rather interesting thread but we've seen alot of food in the Tezuka world, Pinoko and her curry, Astro and breakfast, and Zoran and the less of pound cake, Astro having a bag for a stomach you tell me

Astro seems to be both capable and incapable of eating foods.

As shown in the first episode of the 60's version, where he's at the table with Tenma and trying to eat something. Tenma turns and asks "How are they, good?" And Astro nods yes, although I doubt he's capable of tasting foods, and then immediately stuffs the rest on his plate into his body while Tenma isn't looking to make it seem like he did eat them all.

Tenma was so utterly obsessive in the 60's version, to the point where he completely forgets that Atom is just a robot. It's quite interesting. They changed that a little in the dub though.

yeah, but its all in a bag in the older versions you can say that its good enough to eat afterwards, he actaully drank rameon and kept it and have it to a woman who helped in travel back in time in a volume

Actually in #001 of the B&W, he eats a doughnut in several bites, opens his chest and remove the doughnut, now reassembled into 1 piece, & puts it on the plate. There was an animated GIF somewhere on this forum, it might have been an avatar.

Really? I could have sworn I saw him stuffing the rest of the plate inside him to hide it. I should rewatch that part.
