Still can't find that dog-gone flyin' saucer!!

What I especially liked about Ed's review is the way he describes the evolution and expansion of Atom and Uran's personalities in Pluto. Right on the money. All the political/economical/social implications of Urasawa's world are right in our faces. Some people won't like that part of the series, but that's hits you in the gut and makes you think. That's great writing, and can be a great movie.

Atom is speaking with an adult, I think a human. He sees a boy with a toy that he thinks is cool. The man asks him if he wants one. I forgot the rest, but I think it deals with the man's assessment of Atom's AI in light of his fascination with the toy.

be careful! Everything Ed say's is contradictory to Dr.Jerk! Every last detail. Dr. Jerk claimed no one would see anything deep or care for anything political in Astro. And that it was just in my mind or me making it out deeper than it is. Anybody in fact with a LOVe for the Genre' can see the depth. She said it's a failure. A mere entertainment! Why would universal buy more of a flop? If money and entertainment were the only or primary motivation?
Dr.Jerk in her delicious diatribe is in opposition to every analysis ed puts forth.

About Universal buying into a flop, it's very likely that any reference to Astro will be excised from the movie. We still don't know how faithful it'll be.

Astro Boy does have that message that Tezuka was conveying, the message that everyone is equal and should be treating as such. I never did say there was no message, in fact I see it and respect it. Just as the deindustrializing west is facing it's greatest economic crisis since 1931!! And everyone, worth considering will connect Adolf to you know full well whom?
