some parts of episodes of 03 in the movie astroboy 09

Postby Kuro hazama » 14 years ago

Well, I discovered in some parts of the film 09, are almost similar in some episodes of astroboy03.Como for example, in the film, a star falls from the building and there he discovers he can fly activating bootyets, something similar in the first episode of astroboy03 . another is when the city falls astro meters and lands in a junkyard robots, and also helps collect very useful robot parts, something akin to "astroboy lost in Outland." also in the movie does as ham egg robot fight promoter, as in astroboy03. and finally, in the movie of the robot that has the red nucleus, it can absorb any machine, something like that in the series in the episode "franken":
well that's all, happy almost Christmas. :p

Well, I'm relieved! At first I thought that the film and the '03 series are world apart, but you just proved they aren't so different after all.

Merry Christmas (read my sig)!

The movie picked things from all series. Hamegg having fighting robots comes from the B&W series, and a robot absorbing other parts was also in the episode "Monster Machine" of the B&W series. Tobio having an argument with his dad over doing an activity together leading him to go somewhere on his own is from the 1980's series. Astro being activated for the first time is made to closely resemble the B&W series too, even with his boots squeaking when he walks.

Yeah there's a lot of references from the Astro Boy series in there. Like Astro digging through and out the top of the mountain comes from the second introductions of the old black and white series.

I swear though a lot things are taken from others films as well. Like Astro flying like superman, catching the exploded robot parts like Spiderman (Mary Jane dropping the plate remember?) and the robot games being like A.I's flesh fair. o.o

No kidding, there are references to Lassie (What is it, someone's in trouble? Oh no!), The Shining (Will you play with us?), Pulp Fiction (locked wallet with mysterious light inside), The Freaks (One of us!), Friday the 13th (Hamegg's mask), Wall-e (tech paradise over trash earth, has floating problems near the climax), Rocky (encouraged robot fighter while Zog walks past), Castle in the Sky (Zog's design), Peter Pan and Oliver Twist (orphan kids), and those are just the ones I know of.

Here's a great quote from the director:

David Bowers wrote:It's an iconic property and deserves respect, so I don't want to give it the glib, pop-referential treatment that so many animated movies have today.

All these references for something like Astro Boy...it shouldn't have happened =S I mean, it shouldn't have been a comic relief as much as it was.

Yeah, however with so much references you have to wonder if it has how many 'original' stuff.
