Yeah, when I asked that question I was thinking about a film I watched (A.I. Artificial Intelligence) about a boy I can't remember who was in a coma or something and so the parents brought a robot boy named David, however when the original boy comes home again, he is extremely angered that he is 'replaced' and even tries to damage and destroy David, and so the mum even threw David away

Fortunately, Tobio doesn't hate robots (proved in the '03 series, where he is shown arguing for Nora and robot rights) and so he wouldn't 'reject' Astro. Astro also is nice and friendly, and is even more unlikely to reject Tobio. In A.I., it was the parents that attempted to keep the children on friendly terms, the question is if Tenma would do the same (he might prefer Tobio over Astro, which is why Astro is built in the first place), hopefully they can thought the matter out.
