CraaaaACK
Crunch!
Shards of silver and blue shatter to the floor before a pair of red boots.
“Uh…”
The boy’s hand reached into a cardboard box, pulling out a Christmas bauble of gold.
Craa-aaaaaaaACK
Crunch!
It broke too.
“Sigh…”
On the other side of the tree, the 18 year old stopped what she was doing.
“You bust another one?”
Bent down with a dustpan to the full in broken glass, Astro started sweeping up with déjà vu.
“No…” he lied unconvincingly.
Cora snorted, tilting sideways from the decorated tree.
“How many is that now, four?”
“Seven” he answered meekly.
“You klutz” the teen girl laughed, chucking tinsel over his head.
“Hey, it’s not my fault!” Astro protested, knocking it off “I just…not good with fragile stuff, that’s all.”
He flexed his fingers.
“Does that include silverware?” Cora questioned with a glow to her voice.
The robot’s shoulders dropped.
“That was an accident.”
“Heh…you’re lucky my parents are the forgiving type” Cora told him, returning to decorating her side of the tree “Those were family heirlooms.”
Embarrassment set in.
“Sorry…”
“It’s okay.”
The jingling of bells rung as they were added to the tree.
“Your dad still doesn’t like me…” Astro spoke after a while, combing a hand through pointy hair.
“Be cool, he’s like that with every guy I date” Cora explained and added with playful wink, “You being the first.”
This made the robot grin.
“And the last?” He asked, voice hopeful.
“If you treat me right…maybe” walking over, Cora set her empty box down in exchange for the other.
She searched the remaining decorations.
“By the way, how are the upgrades coming along? You mentioned your dad was gonna add another inch to your height, didn’t you?
“Oh, yeah they’re going okay! And he will be soon…” Astro replied nervous, grasping his throat “He said wants to tweak my voice too!”
“To make you sound older?”
“Yeah…”
Cora rummaged deeper into the box, eyes focused solely on its content.
He hesitated, “You don’t regret it do you?”
“Regret what?” She stopped.
“What you said, on the car that night?” Astro asked, shuffling anxious on the spot.
Her smile spelt relief.
“Nope.”
“Really?” He smiled back.
A hand extended out, tapping a button nose.
“Wouldn’t say it if I didn’t…”
The silver star found, Cora worked upon fitting it to the top of the tree.
“You can kiss me now if you want.”
“E-Eh?” Astro stuttered, caught off guard.
“You know, if you wanted to…” Cora said, adjusting the star, “I won’t stop you.”
His eyes studied her, dubious and shy.
“…You wouldn’t?”
Cora laughed, reaching for the switch.
“That’s for you to find out.”
The fairy lights twinkle aglow, and both stood back to gaze upon the tree.
Alone in their world...
“Not bad” Astro praised, “We’ve done good.”
An elbow was rough to nudge his side.
“What are do you mean we? I did all the work!”
“I helped a little.”
“Yeah…you did, and made a mess” Cora flicked her eyes over to the 14 year old “So…what are you waiting for?”
Astro flinched, shiver persisting.
“But…I, I don’t know how.”
“Nobody does first time” Cora pointed out.
“I guess, but what if I do it wrong?”
“Then you learn.”
“Can you teach me?”
“Sorry.”
“Why not?”
“Learners don’t teach learners.”
“Oh…”
A hand to her chin, Cora chewed her lip “Can’t be that hard…just take it slow.”
“Slow?” Astro raised a brow, “How do we do that?”
“I dunno…try putting your arms around me first, like a dancer” she suggested advancing forward, “Better start than any, right?”
Tense Astro nodded, slow to rest both hands aside her petite waist.
The space between them was a cosmos.
“Don’t be shy” Cora said as a tease to her partner, “I won’t break.”
“O-Okay.”
A braver step taken, they stand arms entwined, with gazes eyes on eyes.
“Now w-what?” Astro gulped; a blue ting glow to his cheeks.
And with whisper to her lips, Cora leaned on in…waiting.
“What do you think?”

And together did they kiss
Into heaven bliss
The blue fairy without wings
And metal puppet on his feets
Balanced high on tippy toes.

“You’re such a girl!”
“…Thanks, Cora.”

And they lived happily ever after

This has got to be the fastest story i've ever written! XD
The goal I had was this was to attempt something simple. Not be too detailed and follow no side view of the characters like I often do. Fun to experiment. =3
I added little things in there like the added number to their ages, since the movie came out about a year ago so I wanted it to stay in the timeline of that

Oh and the tip toe thing...it's to make fun of the fact Astro's so short compared to Cora, he needs a step ladder XD
Now to finish Winter Wish, so I can get onto the final project. ^_~
