Yep, and before long they're gonna do...this!

And seriously, its a cartoon. I don't know why children of yesterday could cope with this and children of today can't .

Wow, I'm not very happy to hear about this. But like Dr. Jerk said, no use in panicking now. But I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like Japan is slowly becoming more American.

I'm not entirely sure what this is about so forgive me if I got the wrong end of stick. Are you're saying is there's gonna be a ban that restricts violence and ecchi?

If I can honest I'm glad about the ecchi ban in a way, because some up the things they came up with in Japan (and with little kids too) I can't even bear thinking about, it makes me sick. However any ecchi stuff with older women or those adult kind of shows...I feel sorry for you men, I really do. XD

Violence however, NOOOOOOOOOO! If that gets clean cut like America THE WORLD IS OVER! I wanna see people get shot at and blood come out, or robot gore! Astro needed that in 03, and it was gone GOOOONE

However if this is going to effect the Astro Boy series then I'm really worried! That series has been nothing but ecchi free! So if they go and pick on Astro's classic costume then he's doomed! DOOMED! I mean that's how Tezuka always drew him and you get rid of that then it'll be a shame.

However if they did ever have redesign his outfit, they could always do this.

I actually wish I could see Astro in that costume in an anime, it'd be so cool! =3

And I agree with you guys on the doujinshi thing, that in itself will become a mass production, and considering how awesome people in Japan you know they would be good.

Agreed, but then there's always the debate (in the U.S. anyway), how much should we support "free speech", even if we disagree with it. :whistling:

I tend to doubt, personally, that Japan will become America-like very fast. Mangaka still draw people using the bathroom, women still make less money than men at the same job, and they still have panty shots in their entertainment.

Plus, Atom is the icon of Japan and the main reason that Japanese entertainment is popular today, how can they ban him?

What's the difference? That's the same in America too.

Oh. I guess my understanding is that women in the U.S. make a fuss about such things, whereas in Japan not so much.

yeah, true free speech is not always agreeing with something but fighting for the right for it to be said. I'm not a big fan of Loli myself but I'm even less of a fan of being told what I can and can't watch or create by old farts that don't understand the material (and have no desire to)
I don't think Atom is ACTUALLY going to be banned. It's just a thought.
Anyway the anime industry fights back
