Sonic Film In Production

Postby Alittleacorn » 14 years ago

I found this a few days ago, thought I'd mention it here.
Click me to watch teaser trailer

It's a not-for-profit fan film currently in production by Sollar Systems Studies and Eddie Lebron.com. The teaser doesn't reveal much but there's a little more on their website.

Sonic for this has been given a complete make over, he has fur and actually hedgehog spikes. A very creative, if brave idea on making the blue guy more real which I hope pays off. He is also going to be voiced by Mr. Jaleel White, I think one of the original voices for Sonic in the anime or game.

I'm not much of a Sonic fan, it was something I was interested in as a kid an the recent games haven't sparked anything for me. However I gotta admit, I'm sort of excited about this, but in the way I am with the Pluto. It might be something really epic, or it might fail. Whatever the case, I'm looking forward to this one and what they'll turn out.

You can find a few more early pictures from their web page here and an interview:

Just when I thought sonic couldn't get any worse :shifty:

I used to like sonic when I was 10 or 11, but i got tired of it and then they started making all these videogames about it and it went downhill from there.

My cousin (who is my age) really likes sonic, so I know he's going to be excited about it. He's a really big sonic fan and he bought just about every sonic game ever made and I played a couple of them and I must say, they sucked. It might be because I'm into shooters and stuff or they might have really been terrible.

Aww, when I saw the thread title, I hoped it was an official thing. It would've made me scream about 4 years ago. But even then, this fan thing wouldn't have interested me at all.

Jaleel White voiced Sonic in all 3 of the American Sonic cartoons. I've got them all on DVD.

It seems like that guy made a Mega Man movie too. I knew of the trailer, but had no idea a complete movie was planned, never mind finished!

Well, at least they're trying to make him look like Sonic... appearance-wise, the cast will at least look more accurate than those from the Zelda and Mega Man films.

Same here. I honestly think sonic went down hill when he went 3D like most Video games now. (Sonic and the Secret rings)

I liked the old sonic cartoons. You know, with the fat Robotnik. For the Win.
And the Archie Comics. Not saying that I have every single one downloaded up to the most recent release, but I have every single one downloaded up to the most recent release. *dies*

The games...meh, SA2 Battle was the last really good one. Unleashed had it's okay parts...the day levels were the only really well done ones...the others, I can take or leave.

If it's a fan movie, it might do the games justice. I already like the voice they have for him and the CG looks pretty good...

I might keep my eye on this one. Could be pretty cool.

Yes, the last good Sonic other than the handheld games... I remember when it came out (not the "Battle" edition), and there were Sonic's 10th anniversary icons everywhere. I was on a webpage recently and saw a 20th anniversary icon and I was like, "already?!".
