And anyway, I've kinda forgotten this part as its such a long time since I've seen the movie (if you can call 1 year a long time LOL) but didn't O'Shay (Elefun) reveal to him the past, during the meeting where Tenma rejected him?

O'Shay reveals it to Astro, but there is a huge gap between knowing something and actually believing it, especially an information that tells you that you are a robot. While scanning his hands, he said something like "so it is true". He knew it, but still had to acknowledge it.

Any thought about how Astro in the movie did not find anything weird with himself can be traced back to him being a robot and was therefore programmed to not question those things.

Being a developper, I can tell you that this is next to impossible. By throwing a little bit of Gödel's theorem I'm sure it can even be proven to be mathematically impossible. The trick would be to lead your mind around the "holes" of the exceptions in the programation. I think this is similar to countering a brainwash by finding the inconsistencies in the false memories.

If I were Astro, I think the point I would've sussed out that I wasn't an 'ordinary boy' would be later that day, after spending hours reading those boring books
