Taking on the TAKS

Postby InsaneAstroBoyLover » 14 years ago

Today, at school, We had our big end of year Test. The Texas Assesment Of Knowlege and Skills, or the TAKS. Today, we did our Revising&Editing and Writing Portion.
All I have left is the Reading and Mathmatics TAKS. Oh Joy.

It's kinda weird. Most people say Tv rot's the brain, but.... I felt Astro helped me keep confidence. It's been like that scince Astro was introduced to me... My grades Went up. Math went from 56 to a 85%(yeah i know :d oh :) Science went from 75 to 98%! It Feel's like Astro's Been helping me along! It's like, You all know how at the begging of Imagi's Astro Boy Movie Astro's taking a SUPER COMPICATED test and finishes it in like, a minute? I dunno. Mabey some of you'll get it.

Anyways, When do/did you take your end-of-year Test?(for those of you in school) My next one isnt till The End of April. :w00t:

Good luck with that ;) .

I have to take the CAHSEE (California High School Standard Exit Exam) diagnostic test in a couple weeks. I don't have to take the real one until my senior year, but all freshman have to take it just so that the high school can determine wheter they need to put you in classes to prepare you for the one in your senior year or not. If I get any grade lower than an 85% (I think) I'd have to take classes to prepare me for it and I won't be able to choose my electives :( .

when i get my results each PSSA has a "bar" on the result sheet. I am always in the 10th-1st percent tile. (i think thats the right number.) meaning only less than 10% of the kids who took the test scored better than me. :p And philly is a HUGE district! they have millions of kids! the highest score i got was last year. 3rd-2nd percent tile! the lowest being 10th percent tile. i don't even study!  :whistling: :ninja:

P.S.: just take it easy with the tests guys. keep your cool thats the key. :) ;)

I never study for tests and when I tell most people that, they think I have bad grades, but I have all A's and one B+. I can't even remember the last time I actually studied for a test  so I don't think I'll be studying for the CAHSEE.

My grade is a B+ in Geometry, but I got 100% on my test a few days ago, so I'm waiting for my grade to be updated. I even told my mom after I took the test, "I'm pretty sure I got 100%" I didn't study for that test and I was 1 of the only 5 students to get that grade.

Just so you know, exams in college courses are much more challenging than tests in high school. Be sure you know how to study! My GPA in high school was 3.75, my college GPA is 3.3. Big difference.
