Kodansa buys Vertical
I stopped a long time ago to try to understand what companies are actually trying to do: buy here, sell there, close that... too complicated for me

The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

No, no, no.
Kondansa International is completely separate from Kodansa USA, who had mostly published various books on biographies and of the Japanese language, and very few manga.
Since they're re-approaching America, they opened Kodansa USA and I guess feeling that there is no more use for International, are shutting it down.
Kodansa USA and Vertical are still around. Also, Kodansa USA is just merely investing in Vertical.

The thing i don't get is that along with this anoucment the international department from Kodansa is closing in April it is etleast to call odd but i cuess it doesn't really matter since vertical is now there company to pout out english language manga's so it might just be a money saver on there side etleast for future tezuka releases.
