I agree. Everytime I see a cartoon made into a live action movie (recently) it doesn't end well. For their to be a live action Astro movie the people making the movie would have to be REALLY good to pull it off.

to pull off astro in live action they would have to do hibrid live/cgi, get a kid wareing a green suet with red balls on it to do the moves then map cgi astro onto the image aligning him to the red balls.

If they are considering Urasawa's Pluto, I think it would work great as live-action because of the way graphics were done. They would need some CGI, but only for special effects ( I really don't expect a real kid flying with rockets :p ) .
