I've often thought about the similarities between Casper and Astro Boy, right down to Harvey Comics using similar character designs to Tezuka's. If you add the Casper movie on top, you get even more similarities (crazy dad tries to revive dead son). I kinda see the new Astro Boy movie like the Casper movie of this generation: average to good, with a similar emotional core and cute kid character.

hi- thanks F-man- love both ASTROBOY and Casper- but my favorite is of course ASTROBOY- STILL wonder why he is not more popular here in the UNITED STATES?- MAYBE I THINK DIFFERENT from most girls and boys- to me the ASTROBOY movie was at least a B plus- and i cry watching it- i love the movie and ASTROBOY would be good for commercials for new robot toy technology and computers. PROUD TO BE A FANGIRL FAN of his and i treasure the season 2003 set i was given for my birthday. ASTROBOY could also inspire interest in space travel- DID anyone see the GREEN LANTERN on cartoon network- i love watching it and the technology for that ship to go a billion light years in a few minutes would make a very interest study and research project called "imagineering"- thanks bunches everyone- so love coming here
