I felt a hand shoving my arm.
"Wake up. Your gonna make us late for school." Zoran said.
I squeezed my eyes shut. Then Zoran pulled my blanket off of me and the cold got to me.
"Come one , Zinc, you don't want to miss you first day of school do you?"
I pulled my pillow over my head "Why do robots have to go to, school?" I mumbled.
"Because we aren't like other robots we have kokoro and the ability to learn."
"Ugh. Are we going to be there together."
"Yeah, but you'll be in a different class because your six."
Just then I noticed a little green bird on Zoran's shoulder. I sensed its trying to communicate with me, but before I could listen Zoran ripped me from my bed.
I followed her down the stairs and out the front door. Astro was waiting for us out there and we all walked down the block. A giant yellow vehicle rolled to a stop infront of us. The doors creaked open.
"This is our ride to school, come on." Zoran said as she ran onto the bus.
I hesitated to get on. I was scared.
"Well are you gonna get on robot." The bus driver said.
I was about to run away in anger when Astro grabbed me and hauled me on the bus. He sat me down in the seat next to him.
"Astro why was that man so mean?" I whined.
"Well its only been afew years since robots gained equality and some humans still don't approve of it." Astro said and I suddenly felt a great sadness spread through Astro. "I'm sorry, Zinc. You don't deserve that treatment. Humans can just be stupid."
It was strange, but I suddenly knew what exactly Astro was feeling and it was horrible.

The bus picked up a few more kids and then we came to a stop infront of a big building that said Metropolis Elementary on the front. We all got off there. I grabbed onto Zoran's hand and she lead me down a hallway and up to a door.
"This is your room. Number one twenty three." Zoran said.
"Hehe one-two-three." I couldn't help, but say.
Zoran ignored me and knocked on the door. A lady with dark brown hair and a impatient look stepped out.
"So your Zinc. I'm Ms. Munger, come in." The lady said unenthusiastly.
I swollowed my fear and went inside.
In there was two groups of girls. One to the left with two girls and one to the right with four girls.
"Hello everyone." I chimed, and they all turned to me.
