I started watching 5/5 GAS MAN, the other day, & mama & papa were Atom's birthday gift, as was the case in other versions. Mama wears xmas lights like a necklace, & papa had a sign in ENGRISH stating that they were his presents, but I cannot recall the exact spelling, other than that it switched an 'L' for an 'R' or vica-versa. BTW, they were dressed for a wedding.

In later eps, mama still wears the bulbs, & papa wears a knit cap, even in summer. :p
