if we could come up with a solution that worked on LINUX as well as windows and mac then I would be down for a vid chat, it would be best to start out with something like that first anyway until we get to know eachother better then make plans to meet face to face.

but I must insist on linux support for the vid chat, I refuse to use windows for that long.

Well here we go this is something that actually works i don't use skype but it would be the best for it and i think it's cross-platform as well.

Well I'd be down for some kind of chat as well. I mainly use Skype and sometimes MSN. If anyone would like my Skype ID feel free to PM me about it.

I would be interested if we do decide to do some kind of group chat over skype or something.

That's an easy one then. Let's make a list of the members interested, then we'll have an idea of the best time of the day to meet. As for the software, Skype is cross-platform; are there any other software that are or that would allow more people to speak at the same time?

Ooops, indeed you were! I meant to add only those who were sure they wanted to, and many were unsure, so I didn't go back to the beginning of the thread and totally missed your last post. Sorry, every time I write in a hurry in the morning, about half of what I should say is missing.

Several here have expressed interest, but it wasn't always clear if they were sure or not. So, the list would go like this according to the thread, but it'd be nice to have a confirmation I guess.

As for the software, apparently Skype can support up to 25 people in a conference call, and it's cross-platform so I guess it can't get better than that. It's less for video however, so I think we should go for voice only.
