@diehard67:
I got them off of eBay about 3 years ago. Keep an eye out for the books available from this seller here.

@ASTROBUDDY:
Whoa, you own about 11 volumes of those? Amazing!
If I assume that each volume treats 4 or 5 episodes, it seems as NTV published nearly the entire 80's series in book form.
It's really a shame that the site which I posted the link to on page 2 doesn't exist anymore. It actually had each of the book-covers' images viewable.
I just own the two books I posted the scans from.

I actually don't feel like doing further scans, since the books' bending starts to wear out. I think I captured their contents' essence well enough, otherwise one is better off watching the 80's series on DVD. :lol:

@Bigdog:
Yeah, the scans here don't really represent the actual images' quality; mainly due to cropping. Scans of bit-mapped images are always a pain in the neck to resize.
Your theory about copying the finalized cels looks reasonable to me. Given the age of the copies I got, I barely noted any fadings of color, which isn't to be taken for granted.
ASTROBUDDY, if I may ask, were you able to pick up your copies in good condition?

Wow this looks really nice the only bad thing about it is that it is exactly the same as the anime and i already have the American and Austraian version and many rare Astro Boy/Tezuka art books.

But still if it woudn't be to expensive i sure would like to have it but the seller probably did only have a few didn't he i don't know how many years old it is but in any case it must be out of print because i haven't seen it before.

Thought I'd add these few scans of some covers of the Shin TetsuWan Atom(u) anime-manga (aka TV-manga). I went to the shelf in my closet where I keep these things and saw that I indeed had only 11 and the last story in the last volume was ep.# 44--"The Snow Leopard" which means that if this is in effect the last volume, only the remaining eight episodes possibly never saw print! (I believe the stories were printed in the same order as the broadcast of the show in Japan.)
I :heart: :astro: :)

Yes, they're all amazing! Anime is nice, but sometimes it's good to have some frozen frames to let you appreciate the images.

really nice covers especially 11 must be the from the episode where atlas and levian offer there shelfes to save earth that reminds me i should watch it again really good stuff only a shame that the most iconic astro boy villan in all of the series dies there while they could have used him till the end of the series.

Thanks for sharing, ASTROBUDDY; if you could, please put the 3rd one below the others, because horizontal scroll bars are :d evil:.

Your welcome, and I am sorry, but I do not understand. I just checked the post on my laptop and the third one (vol.# 11) is below the others. I also do not understand "horizontal bars"! As I understand it, I manage attachments, but I was not aware of how to (or that I could) reposition mutiple image files because when I submit post, the images appear (it seems to me) when more than one image appears in a post, they appear side by side as opposed to when I upload them and they are one over the other. This was my first time loading more than two images in a post. Question: Did I do som'zin' wrong? :(
I :heart: :astro: :)
