What if Disney got the rights to Kimba?

I thought The Lion King looked amazing in 3D. I may get stoned for this but I'd actually rather see them get the rights to Princess Knight ^///^
My only issue with this would be the marketing and merchandising. You just know a movie with a princess as the main character is doomed to "pretty princess" dolls and tea sets despite the fact that said character wouldn't be caught dead with that stuff.

So , had Disney won the rights to the franchise in the 80's, how different would the film really be from the anime and manga? How would the characters be changed?

First things first, I recall from the KimbaWLion website that the first and nearly finalized titles being "The King of the Jungle" and the "The Jungle King". But would those been the possible subtitles of the Kimba film?

I would like to see your input on how Disney would've handled Kimba.

I would have liked to see a CGI/live action Kimba half serious and half laugh gags like the orriginal cartoon. I had a devious idea of Ted Nugent playing the role of a big game hunter Kimba enjoys harrassing. Imagine a CGI Kimba armed with a paint ball gun and a real devious look of bratty mischief on his face!

Kimba's every day side kick would be Speedy Cheetah.

I wouldn't neccessarily call that '3D', I would call the Astro Boy movie more 3D-ish. I think that with The Lion King, Kimba is pretty much doomed but Princess Knight... not likely, but at least not impossible. Disney does seem to be making a lot more "pretty princess" movies lately...
