ARTIFICIAL BRAINS!?

Postby jeffbert » 14 years ago

Another interesting GIZMAG article suggests that artificial brain parts may be in our future:

Cool stuff . . . I'm waiting for them to be able to "download" things to the artificial brain components . . . Can imagine when we'll be able to "receive" a foreign language or education . . . ahhhh no more studying and instant knowledge!

There really are appealing aspects to being cyborg!!

...if you are not abducted by Japanese Nazis and converted forcibly into one.
Example A

I wouldn't mind if I could just become immortal and shed flesh and blood altogether. But then again it would blow since technology is not that advanced yet. Over all , I would get my body reworked to be enhanced so I could do superhuman feats like the six million dollar man.

Hmmmmm...Is it just me thinking that it might also bring unintended consequences? :p

I'd also be more than happy to have my body enhanced, but I'm not so sure about putting an artificial cerebellum in myself (unless there's a problem with mine, of course).

Like the tagline of the 1990 science fiction film Hardware , 'you can't stop progess'. Like it or not, technology will just keep on advancing, and then we'd have to keep up with it.

The thing only works because the part replicated has know values of output for known values or conditions of input. This is a long way from THE TEACHER as featured in SPOCK'S BRAIN. :p
