Pretty easy to understand why. He'd probably love the horrible Airbender film after seeing that happen to his own creation. in my opinion if he was alive today.

I just don't understand how it could have been so hard to make a toku series....oh yeah...there was none other than the Moonlight Mask.

So ,not only was Astro Boy the first anime, it was the first and only tokusatsu TV series with a robot as the lead until Tezuka's Ambassador Magma was adapted to the small screen with far more success there and overseas called the Space Giants while Gigantor was the first super robot show. Dang, I swear both series and their creators inspired countless toku and anime by themselves . That's just amazingly remarkable, I just haven't seen an American comic creator do the same.

I'd hate to have any one of my creations be mauled like that.

Shotaro Ishinomori had to of watched this Astro show and been inspired by the costume and scarf for use in his own series. He did work under Tezuka and probably knew of the show as a result if not the first theory......Wonder who stole the horrendous body armor and Uran's hat?

EDIT: I watched the intro in depth and essentially they use a doll/action figure for the flying scenes, so now I'm thinking of this as " Action League Now!"'
