The orange background is exactly why "The Scream" came to mind, although I did not get the idea immediately. From memory, I even thought there was more orange than there really was in the painting.

Oh really? The first time I saw this painting, I was still a child. It was in a book about dreams interpretation. In the first part of the book, there were multiple stories about premonitory dreams, some of them about pretty bad disasters that followed. I don't know why, but among them, there was a full page with that painting, in black and white. The book made quite an impression on me; I don't remember how old I was but I must not have been older than 10. I made a bad association with the painting from that time, and unfortunately, to this day, looking at it makes me very uncomfortable. Placing Astro into it felt really strange for that reason!
