Yeah, I rather like the one with Bem too( the little I've seen of it). I'm not exactly fond of Astro's voice in that one, but I guess that's just cause I'm used to hearing his voice from the 03 series is all.
First I hear of it too, even though Alittleacorn mentioned its title in the 4th post of this thread! XD
Apparently it's a planetarium film and was first released in 2004. It's getting some new showings right now, and if anyone's in Japan, there's only 3 chances left to go see it.

I was trying to find this film for a year! I finally found it on ABO. (Though, I always thought that sharing links to any anime or film was against the rules here.)
Anyways, I looked up a wiki article of this film back in the summer of 2013, and I'm pretty sure the person who directed this film, was the women who created that shoujo anime/manga sailor moon.
I guess she was inspired by Osamu Tezuka's works or something. (Though, it dosen't say in her wiki article that she directed the film. But it does say in the Astro boy vs. IGZA article.)
Now that I think about it, that's pretty cute!
