I'm going to use this thread to get some advice and/or insight into a problem I'm having, but feel free to post your own Have you ever... questions!

Alright...
Have you ever been writing a story that you almost immediately hate, but feel that you have to complete for whatever reason?

I'm working on this story, a horror story about a masked serial killer (original, huh?), but I don't like it; but, like Jack Torrance with his play in The Shining, I feel like I just have to complete it. The reason being, it is actually a very heavily revised version of my first real short story I wrote when I was 14 or 15 (that draft is just horrible). I should've finished it days ago, though I'm not far off. I'm working on a book of short stories & this is the last one I have to do, plus a frame story, and I think part of the problem is that, since I'm so close to finishing the book (I hope to get it published), I'm starting to fear the process of actually trying to get it published.

Anyone else have a similar experience?
Also, like I said earlier, feel free to post your own Have you ever... questions! :)

HI- thanks : DOES HAVING THE EXACT OPPOSITE COUNT? I FEEL OBLIGATED HAPPILY TO WRITE MY STORY ON HERE- I LOVE ASTROBOY and i could never change him entirely- in my story he has learn how to develop enormous powers including transformations- but he but mainly she in my story is still loving and caring and so sweet and kind and also trying to disprove the theory "absolute power" corrupts! IT will not change ASTROBOY at all- he or she will always be ASTROBOY- the best robot friend and sisterbrother ever! THANKS hugs and pray everyone the very best salvation and safety and happiness always! PRAY WE WILL BE FRIENDS always- and thanks ever so sweetly for letting me post! hugs
