WRONG Solarcat!! this is a VERY cool thread - and I especially love to see things from the 60's (when I first saw Astro!) :D

What I have been searching for (without success so far) is a TV Guide article about Astro Boy's historical premiere. THAT'S where I remember reading for the first time that the cartoon was actually from Japan, and seeing Fred Ladd's name. It wasn't a full page, but there was a (black and white) image of Astro flying. I can't place exactly when I saw it. Seems like it had been out for a while because it WAS actually a huge hit, and this was a brief comment about the program's uniqueness and unprecedented acceptance by American children.

Ironic, isn't it, that only the first anime was given a "full run" at a regular time/day in America, and it was an enormous success. Wish the other two versions had that opportunity.
