I thought of children too after posting, dragonrider. If the child is very young and/or doesn't mind the animation too much, the 1980 series would be a good start too.

True, F-Man, I wasn't thinking of this possibility when I posted; but I would hope for a more universal format eventually.

depending on the episode, yes. Some may be so traumatizing that it may turn them off from Astro Boy XD (Astro's first love comes to mind >>)
