Astro Dashed to school as fast as possible, put his books in his locker, and headed off to his first period class room.

Atom: I'm- (huff) I'm here...

Teacher: ...Sit.

Atom: y-yes... mam...

Atom sat down in his assigned seat, next to two of his friends.

Alejo: what gives Astro? your never late to class.

Kennedy: everything alright Astro?

Atom: yeah, I'm fine, nothing bad happened, I just got up a bit late, that's all.

Alejo: ok, if you say so.

Atom: So, what I miss?

Kennedy: well we're going into the Algebra unit soon, and that's really all we've discussed.

Atom: cool, Im glad i didn't miss anything important.


Back Home....


Nora: WAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! Wh-Who are you?!!

Suru: !!! I-it's me Nora, S-suru.

Nora: Oh my Stars! how you've changed!

Suru: yeah... i guess i failed to mention I'm a shape shifter?

Nora: wh-why yes.

Suru: Sorry if i frightened you. ^^;;

Nora: ooh, your fine dear, but you really had me goin' there, i thought for sure i had blown a fuse!

Suru tucked her tail between her legs.

Suru: again, I do apologize...

Nora: boy, i bet the Dr. would like to hear about this.

Suru: yes, where can one find him at this hour?

Nora: well... today is Friday... he should be upstairs still sleeping.

Suru: in other words, I'll have to wait until he wakes?

Nora: yes, the Dr. doesn't like to be disturbed when he's sleeping.

Suru just smiled.

Suru: i dunno anyone who does!

Nora: yes, yes, and feel free to watch t.v while you wait, but please, keep the volume down.

Suru: naaah, i'm good, need help with the chores?

Nora: do what now?

Suru: do you need help with the chores?

Nora: i.. heard you perfectly clear... it's just, I've never been asked if i needed assistance...

Suru: ooh, I see... but, if it's all the same, i could at least do some laundry, or a load of towels.

Nora: oh no,no,no,no,no! I'm quite capable.

Suru: alright, if you want me to help, im here. ^^

Nora: a-alright. thanks for the offer.

Suru smiled and sat down on the liveing room couch and waited for Dr. Oshea to wake up.

Chapter 5

Back at Metro-Middle School Astro was typing a report for English class at a fast pace, Abercrombie stared in amazement as Atom finished his report, and printed it out. Atom got up and stapled his papers together, then handed the paper to his English teacher.

Mr. Brown: Done already?

Atom: yes sir.

Mr. Brown: Did you spell check?

Atom: Automatic for me.

Mr. Brown: hmmmm, Indentations in the right places?

Atom: I do believe so.

Mr. Brown: well, the rest of the class has four days to work on theirs, so please do find something quiet and productive to do.

Atom: Alright.

Atom sat back down in his seat and re-opened his laptop.

(Hmmm what to do...?)

Atom fooled around on his laptop for a while, but soon became bored.

(the school's internet blocker won't let me on Youtube... or on any other entertaining sites....)

So, seeing no point in playing on the computer anymore, he turned the power off, and shut his laptop. Then he got a piece of paper and started doodling. Atom opened a compartment in his binder, and grabbed a few colored pencils, and colored it in.

Chapter 5 continued

As Astro finished it up, Abercrombie looked over at his paper, and whispered: "Who... or what is That with you?" He whispered.

Atom: hmmm? oh, That's Suru, I'm trying to learn how to draw her.... [Atom Whispered back.]

Abercrombie: her? So, it's a girl... but... what is she...?

Atom: A shape shifting wolf.

Abercrombie tried to hold in his laughter.

Abercrombie: You have some imagination Astro!

Atom: ...but I didn't imagine her, She's real.

Abercrombie: that's preposterous! Shape shifting beings are only from the moon right?

Atom: To my knowledge... yes...

Abercrombie: then how could she possibly live here on earth? She'd die without Luminite! and there isn't anymore.

Atom: ...true... it is strange.... but, I am telling the truth.

Abercrombie: you've never lied to me before... so, i don't doubt you, but I need some proof that your not just making this up.

Atom: alright, so, why not come over to my place tonight, She's there.

Abercrombie: ok.

The final bell rang and the class room kids started to disperse out into the hallways.

Atom: See you there!

Atom grabbed his books out of his locker and threw his back-pack over his shoulders. Then he got to thinking:

So, he walked out of the school building and as soon as he was off school property, he activated his rocket boots and blast off towards Alejo's house.
When Atom arrived, he knocked on the door lightly, a familiar voice rose.
"who is it?"

Atom: It's me, Astro! open up, I have something to ask you!

Alejo opened the door and let him in, luckily for Astro, Kennedy was spending the night at Alejo's house.

Atom: good! your both here!

Kennedy: Sup Astro? what did you want to ask us?

Atom: I have a new friend, and I thought it would be nice if you guys came over to meet her.

Alejo: where does she live?

Atom: well, she lives with me.

Alejo and Ken were both silent for a moment.

Kennedy: She lives with you? Why's that?

Atom: I'll explain later, is it alright if you come over for a while?

Alejo: I'll have to Ask mom first.

Atom: ok.

Alejo didn't bother getting up, instead he just yelled for her.

Alejo: HEY MOM??

Alejo's mother: Yes, what is it?

Alejo: IS IT ALRIGHT IF KEN, AND I GO TO ASTRO'S HOUSE LATER TONIGHT??

Alejo's mother: I don't see why not.

Alejo: yessssss~!
We'll be there Astro.

Atom smiled.

Atom: alright, say around 5?

Alejo: Sounds good.

Atom headed out the door.

Kennedy: See ya' later bud!

Atom: see ya!

Astro ran right home, but when he got there he opened the door to see Dr. Oshea taking blood tests on Suru.

Atom: what's going on?

Oshea: well, Suru and I both had questions about where she came from, and how she can morph, so we decided to take a little blood test to anilize her genetic make up.

Atom: ooh, I see.

Suru looked away while Oshea stuck a needle in her arm.

Suru: ...sorry... i can't stand needles...

Oshea: it's alright, i know the feeling.

Atom sat down beside Suru on the couch.

Oshea and Suru: So how was School?

Atom: got finished with my report early, as usual. and, I invited Abercrombie, Ken, and Alejo over tonight, is that alright?

Oshea looked a bit nervous.

Oshea: we can't let them know about her.

Suru looked at him.

Suru: and why not?

Atom: yeah... why can't they see her?

Oshea: we don't know what she is... and if word get's out that she's here Tawashi could show up... and he'll make a big deal out of it I'm sure.

Atom: they can keep a secret. honest. They're my friends Oshea, they wouldn't do anything like that.

Oshea: ... alright... if you say so... but remember... Suru's your responsibility, if anything happens to her, its your ordeal.

Suru: Ahem. Don't think me rude, but, I'm not a pet...

Oshea: I know your not, i just don't want another epidemic brought on my shoulders... I'm getting to old for this stuff...

Atom: oooh~ your not old~

Oshea smiles a bit.

Suru: what do you mean by... epidemic... am i missing something...?

Atom wasted no time telling her all about his adventures, about everything, every adventure he's ever had, about how he got all of his amazing powers, his quarrel with Tenma, and his forgiveness in the end. but, the story telling took longer than expected, the door bell rang, atom looked inside of his chest, at his "internal clock" 5:09. His friends had arrived.

Chapter 6

As the doorbell rang a second time, Suru panicked and hid behind the couch, Atom rolled his eyes and opened the door and let his friends in. Oshea packed up the blood samples and put them in a metal carying case.

Oshea: You kids be good, I'll be back soon. While I'm gone Nora's in charge.

Atom: where are you going professor?

Oshea: To the ministry, I need to get to the lab to anilize the tests i took.

Atom & Friends: Ok Oshea.

Oshea closed the door behind him, and there was a strange silence for a bit.

Alejo: So where is this friend of yours Astro?

Atom: she's hiding...

Suru's ear flicked.

Suru: I-I'm Sorry... I'm... just... a bit nervous....

Kennedy: nervous? of what?

Abercrombie: I don't judge before I get to know people.

Alejo: nor do I.

Suru:... if you say so....

Suru got up and showed herself. looks of disbelief took over The boy's expressions. Abercrombie was the first one to approach her, and he reached out his hand. Suru looked at him thoroughly.

Suru: ...Hello Abercrombie.

She shook his hand lightly, then moved towards the others.

Abercrombie: H-how do you know my name?

Suru: Atom told me a lot about you. Ken... and Alejo as well.

She shook both their hands.

Alejo: what... are you...?

Suru: to my understanding, I'm a wolf.

Ken stayed scilent for a while...

Atom: I'm glad you guys didn't freak out.

Kennedy:ya know Suru, you look a lot... like... Sonic...

Alejo: who?

Kennedy: Sonic The Hedgehog, he's a video game character.

Abercrombie: the blue guy that rolls around in a ball?

Kennedy: yup.

Suru: yeah... I'm a fan of Sonic... but... I really look like... this...

Secret Chapter: (1)

In a world... opposite of witch Atom and friends are familiar... a lonely teenager, on the verge of insanity, has attempted to create, "the perfect companion" one of witch... could never die... never leave him... one with free will... and a heart and mindset of his own. Tobio wiped tears from his eyes as he clung onto his new Robot "brother" half finished, and with no outer skin, the machine was cold, and lifeless. He tried to get a grip and show no emotion, but it had been about a year sense his father's death, and his mother, rarely spoke. Tobio was alone in the world, but in a sense... not alone, his father had left him, with the knowledge of robotics. And, by doing so, He never leafed. But, Tobio ignored the few words of comfort his mother had to offer... both fell into depression, and with each passing day Tobio became colder, and careless. Although Tenma left his research for him, he didn't truly understand the way robots were built. They were programed to follow every instruction given by humans. Tobio didn't want that type of life for his new brother. he wanted him to be free from human control. As he pressed his tear-stained face against the Robotic arm, a pile of papers fell to the ground, he looked over his shoulder and out of the corner of his eye, he saw, in bold print: "Theory of Kokoro" By: Bill Tenma Seeing his father's name on the page made him a bit curious, so he bent over, on his knees to read the torn paper. "Kokoro, a state in witch a robot has no programing, free will, and the ability to feel, have emotions, and even dream-" As his eyes widened, Tobio realized that the paper had many tares and ink smudges. So, only about 1/3 of the equation and Mechanics were avalable to him. But, this did not phase Tobio, no, it gave him confidence, and inspiration. Tobio looked up, sadness and confusion reflecting back from the distant window. His eyes watered, and he clenched the paper within his hands.

Tobio: D-dad... You... and I... shared the same ideas... is this a sign? Should I go through with this? Have We lost our Sanity?! Robots... With human Emotions... Feelings.. Thoughts... and all things that make US human... Was this your vision... your dream..?

Tobio looked down at the now crumpled sheet of notebook paper. Tears fell upon it.

Tobio: I'll make your-...Our... Dream... a reality... if it's the last thing I do... I will succeed...

Tobio closed his eyes and whispered to himself: "i have to..."

Secret Chapter: (2)

Tobio wasted no time, he got down to business and finished his new advanced robot's defense system and central controls. Although, he wanted his brother to be free,but Tobio also wanted control in-case of an emergency. He worked hard, as his faithful dog stayed by his side, she kept him company, and was very inteligent.

Tobio often asked her for tools, and supply's. but, when he didn't have the parts he needed, he stole them from junk yards, and even some facility's with top-dollar robotics. Him and his group of friends were never caught, they were very sneaky, and never reveled themselves. Tobio had his Dog with him every time he and friends went on a raid. Suru was very useful, quick, and never suspicious.

Tobio yawned, he had spent all night working on his robot, Suru was in the corner of the room, asleep peacefully, Not wanting to wake her He walked out of the room and shut the door quietly. he walked up to his room, and pulled out a watch from his sock-drawr, pushed a few buttons and dialed a few numbers and had a 4-way chat with Alejo, Abercrombie, and Kennedy.

Tobio: Guys, meet me outside old-dodger's place.

Kennedy: Alright, on my way.

Abercrombie: be there soon.

Alejo: man, i can't do it right now, my girlfriend's over... sorry...

Tobio: dude, we NEED your hacking skills for this, I can't do it without you!

Abercrombie: Just bring her with us, simple, problem solved.

Alejo: ...Fine... be there in 5.

Tobio: kay, everyone know what to do?

All: Yup.

Tobio: good, i'll hop on my jet bike and be over soon, i might be a bit late, but i'm bringing Astor with me.

Alejo: Astor? ... Your robot prototype?

Tobio: yes...

Alejo: Ok...

Tobio: I'm out.

All: See ya.

Tobio ended the call, put on his leather jacket, helmet, and jumped out his bedroom window, grabbed a hold of the tree and let go, easing his fall. He took his Prototype and jumped on his jet-bike, and darted off into the night.

Hearing the engine running, Suru woke from her sleep, and followed as fast as she could till she caught up to him.

Tobio: you want to come girl?

Suru: Woof! woof!

Tobio: alright hop on!

He slowed down a bit, giving Suru the opertunity to jump in the back by his unfinished-Robot. She rode with her fur flowing in the wind, and her ears flopping around. She loved going on rides with Tobio, although She could talk she never reveled that to him. some voice was in the back of her head telling her to only reveal that power to him when the time was right.
perhaps, it would be best to leave him in the dark for a bit longer. All she knew was that, She alone is Tobio's guardian angel, and was meant to protect, love, care, and do what's best for him.

Secret Chapter: (3)

A few minutes had passed, and Tobio had arrived at the meeting place.

Abercrombie: We're still waiting on Kennedy... but Alejo and I are here.

Mindy: i'm... here too, but i don't really feel comfortable doing this...

Tobio: you won't have too. just stand guard. ok?

Mindy: Got it. just be careful guys.

Tobio: will do.

Kennedy arrives riding on his bicycle. huffing, and puffing.

Ken: I... I'm h-here.

Tobio: good, we need to get to work asap. Astor won't last forever, and I'd like to keep him as long as possible....

Ken: Wh-what do you mean... "won't last forever?!" isn't the effect of "He'll never die" why we're doing this?!

Tobio: if i can't figure out my dad's algorithim, this will all be pointless... i need some better intell to make it even relativity possible. that's WHY we're doing THIS.

Ken looks down at his feet, trying not to make eye-contact.

Tobio: so you in? or out then?

Ken:... I'm in, but... if this doesn't work out... promice me you won't take it out on yourself... or other people...

Tobio: i'm not sure i can keep my promice, but i will try...

Ken shrugs his shoulders.

Ken: I tried...

Alejo and Mindy are looking out in the ally way.

Alejo: we'd better go soon, it's getting late, and the street lights will turn on soon, that could blow our cover.

Tobio: Gotcha. Abercrombie? Did you bring the crowbar?

Abercrombie: yup, i've got it right here.

He placed it in Tobio's hands and backed off.

Tobio: sounds like we're ready then.

Mindy: I... don't like it here, it's too dark...

Abercrombie: then I'll stand guard with you so your not all alone out here.

Mindy: Thanks.

Tobio: alright, Ken, Alejo? let's roll.

all three ran down the dark ally, and Suru followed close behind, smelling the air, and keeping an eye out for trouble.

Tobio: Suru? do you think you can find us a way in?

Suru nodded her head and ran to the right of the junkyard looking for anything a human could easily fit through. her ears perked up as she saw a decent size hole in the fenceing, as she thought to herself: (if they were to get on they're knee's and crawl in they could fit easily through there)

So, she headed back to Tobio, and tugged on his pant-leg with her teeth lightly, showing him the way to the entrence.

Tobio: now, Suru, i said WE need to fit through there...

Suru rolled her eyes, and got down on her stomach and crawled through the other side.

Tobio: this is emberassing... but, ok, whatever.

the three boys crawled through the hole in the fenceing and started rummiging through parts, and Alejo shut down the security.

Alejo: that should do it guys, we've got about 45 minutes before the code is useless. so let's hurry up, and get what we need.

Tobio and Ken nodded they're heads and suru was going through many parts of older robots, she seemed to understand what tobio would eventually need. she saw a ruber-like plastic skin coating of an older undercover (human-like) robot. her eyes widened, as she dragged it out of the junkyard back to where Mindy and Abercrombie were standing. She dropped it at the're feet, wagged her tail and ran back off into the shadows.

Mindy: creepy dog...

Abercrombie: ehh, you'll get used to her, she's very inteligent you know?

Mindy: that's what scares me... do you ever think, she's too smart?

Abercrombie: why do you say that?

Mindy: i donno, i just have a gut feeling that she knows more than we do...

Abercrombie: it's a possibility, but, i doubt it, she's just an animal.

Mindy: wonder how the guy's are doing...

Abercrombie: we've done this dozens of times, they're fine, im sure of it.

Mindy: that's what i'm worried about, what will happen if your caught?

Abercrombie: Tobio's mom is pretty wealthy, she'd bail us outta jail.

Mindy looked out in the distance and saw some sillowets coming into focus.
Fear made her freeze in place, she was unable to move, or speak.

Abercrombie: what's wrong?...

He glanced over his shoulder and started to panic.

Abercrombie: GOD IT'S THE COPS, BAIL MINDY!

He started running but realized she wasn't following and picked her up then started running again. He darted down the ally as fast as physicaly possible, and he put his hood over his head to disguise himself.
sirens sounded and Tawashi ordered his men to close in on them.

Abercrombie: GUYS! RUN! IT'S THE POLICE!!!

Tobio: !!! WHAT?!

Abercrombie: BAIL MAN! GET THE H*LL OUTTA THERE!!!!

Alejo looked around, scared stiff.

Alejo: WHERE'S MINDY?!

Abercrombie: I'VE GOT HER!! JUST GET OUT BEFORE THE COP'S CATCH UP!!!

Kenndey stuffed as much as he could into his pockets and hopped the fence.
Tobio freaked out and followed Ken's lead and climbed the fence, and they all ran as fast as they could and split up in another ally way, Alejo followed Abercrombie and Tobio followed Ken in the opposite direction. then it hit him.

Tobio: Suru?!
...
SURU!!

Suru was running back for what she had found earlier in the junk yard,then she hooked her leash to Tobio's jet-bike while trying to catch up to them, but she ran out of breath, and ended up walking home, dragging the bike behind her.

Suru: Tobio... must... find... Tobio... can't give up now... almost home...

she was exausted, but carried on down the street with her load lagging behind. and just at the thought of "I can't take another step" Tobio's familiar house came into veiw, and she suddenly had a burst of energy. she hid Tobio's bike in the garage, and looked at Astor's unfinished body. She placed his lifeless body on the table where Tobio usually worked.

Shortly after Suru got home Tobio burst into the garage and see's Suru. He sighs in relief, and gets on his knees hugging her.

Tobio: I thought you might have been picked up by the dog catcher! I'm so glad your safe!

He hugged her tighter and looked behind her too see what she dragged in the garage.

Tobio: What's this? something you picked up for me to use later?

He examined it closely and realized it felt just like skin, and was just the right shade he had been wanting. then to his surprise his bike was put away, and Astor was unharmed.

Tobio: Your amazing!

Suru slightly blushed, and crawled onto his lap, panting lightly. He stroked her head in a loving way.

Tobio: it's been a long day, huh girl?

too tired to even nod, Suru just layed there. she enjoyed being in his arms, it made her feel safe. Tobio picked her up and carried her to his bedroom up stairs and layed her on the foot of his bed where she always slept, tucked her in with her favorite blanket and pet her one last time before crawling under his covers and falling asleep.
