1980s Astro Boy

Postby Little Brown Fox » 12 years ago

So, the Wii has a YouTube channel now, and while this means I can no longer use YouTube XL on the Internet channel, this also means that I can watch content with subtitles now, including the subbed episodes of Astro Boy on Viki.

The problem is, I've run out of episodes to watch (which sucks, because I know that there aren't many left to go, anyways). Does anybody know whether the Marine Express is fully subtitled or not?

Considering that the Marine Express is on the YouTube VikiTezuka channel, I'd say it should be.

It is subtitled on Viki.

Uhh, I tried to watch it last night, and, unless there is something seriously wrong with the YouTube channel on my Wii, there is next to no subs on the Marine Express at all. At least, not in English.

Are some of them italicized? Because my Wii seems to take issue with italics (although in most cases, the words at least still show up).

I remember an issue with the movie where an italicized line wasn't closed properly, making all lines after it italicized, but I thought I fixed it.

When do the subtitles stop exactly? From the very beginning?

Almost, just about. The date shows up fine, but then it's all downhill from there. The only thing that showed up was a fairly random instance of the word "weapon". After not too long, I gave up on it.

Btw, the problem isn't the presence of italics, but the absence. Usually the words will still show, but they look normal, and don't slant like they're supposed to. The point is that they're still there; I can still read them.

The problem here is that words don't show up at all. However, I DO still see this infinitesimally small black dot (possibly rectangular) at the bottom of the screen, in time with the dialogue that's being spoken at the time.
