And yes, he /does/ somewhat resemble Uran. Butilovehimanyway.

Also, it's interesting to see that he actually has ears in this design. He more closely resembles Atom this way, too, though (except for the hair, which, if you pay close attention to the animation, sometimes mirrors the weird angles of Atom's "points").

Interesting thought! There is a strong family resemblance.

I was searching the web when I found it, not quite sure the site.
The position of Mars's hair were just in the same side as Uran, so they had to change him in order to not look like a gender bender of her playing the role of the protagonist (it's a joke, don't take it seriously).
They took a picture of Atom without his boots too, guess Tezuka had to redesing Mars entirelly, so he would not look like Uran.
I've even did this pic as a joke:

There are a lot of jokes which we could do with that information about Jetter Mars's prototype.

Great stuff! Hmmm . . . . if you make Uran a BLONDE she'd look a bit like Miri, Jetter's sister.

And here's a question I have since learning of JM's existence . . . why "Jetter" when he doesn't have JETS . . . and isn't that curiously similar to "Jetto" (who also didn't have jets) . . . just have to ask that . . . what was going through Dr. Tezuka's head??

She would need some spheres in the hair which would look odd on her to fit like Miri.
Then again, I wonder how things would go if both Jetter Mars and Uran meet each other.
The episode Uran Tomboy is based in episode 2 of Jetter Mars with Uran replacing the original protagonist in a way or another, lol

I think Uran and Jetter Mars make a cute couple/friends. What a crossover story that could be! He's more like Uran in personality than Atom. But yeah, a blonde Uran would be odd!

I started a fanfic based in that idea, I just need comments so I can start working over.
Mars was added in "Power Outage", because I thought it would be interesting if he also did an appearance.
Although, he got shutted down.
By the way, I was thinking about adding the concept of actual jets in his boots since his cape would not be a enough excuse for flying, lol
