How Would You Like a New Video Game?

Postby Earthshine » 12 years ago

I am a gamer, a fairly aloof gamer but a gamer none-the-less and I have played most of the Astro Boy video games available to the USA.

I have found that only one game has been what I call a 'good' game and that is Omega Factor for the advanced handheld, the others (while being fun to play) as a game in total was found to be... lacking.

So my question to everyone is; if you could have a new Astro Boy game for the current game systems, what would it be like?

I think it would be great if they released an over-head action-based game that went through the life of Atom, and with each "chapter/dungeon/level/scenario" you had to do more than just beat the baddie. I'm thinking of a sort of Zelda type gameplay, with puzzles and non-leveling up (but with power-ups) and an expansive free-range world. A game with lots of exploitative value and lots of things to do.

The PS2 had a similar sounding game but it was short, easy and made by Sega with little exploration and was literally on a train-track.

It might also be interesting to have a Tezuka character rpgish game.

What do you think?

I would like to have another action game based in the series, but I think it would be fun if we could unlock other characters to play like Uran for example.
If Uran was playable then the player would have to deal with different strategies based in her technical limitations which would make her a character for advanced players.

I would love to see a 3-D open world action game exploring Metro City and the world around it.

I'd like a game with complex puzzles, one that doesn't focus on Astro's usual mechanical prowice but makes you think...leans more towards moral and ethics than brute firepower and force.

A game that results from Osamu Tezuka's philosophy towards education.

I'd be happy with a bigger budget Omega Factor sequel. I also like the idea of multiple characters, but I think it might be cooler with Tezuka's other creations (though that may pose a problem)
