Rather than Hi-Jack the Skunk thread I'll start a new one.
As the title asks, who is your favorite "heavy" character? Mine is Acetylene Lamp. Lamp has played various kinds of "vilians" some real nasty, and some just mildly so. He also played a cop in Blackjack that while a real pain in the rear for BJ, was really just doing his job. He appeared many times in the 1960's series with "Colossus" being his first 'gig' and I think 'White Comet' was the next. I also like the 'candle' gag, only the audience can see it. (With one exception....In one Blackjack story Mustashio grabs Lamp's candle and uses it to set off an explosion!)
Edit: I found a nice animated frame of Lamp.
Who's your favorite vilian from Astro Boy (or ANY Tezuka story)?

Although he's technically not a "villain," I'd say the "villainous side" of Tenma! :d evil: Especially considering how they interpreted his character in the 2003 series . . . he is the consummate "mad scientist!"
From the "Darth Vaderesque" voice, to his admirable skills as an organist - to having the vision of being "God" of robots (with his son as the "king") - it just doesn't get any more dramatic!
And yet . . . as with all of Tezuka's characters . . . he's got that "good side" and appealing traits that keep you from completely hating him.

You know, I think the 2003 series view of Tenma kinda reminds me of Captain Nemo. He had both a good and a dark side too.

Verry intresting topic
i'm having trubble to decide who is actually my favourite the reason for that is because many tezuka villans tend have a message going for them and a tragic past which makes them very likeable but i defenetly have a top 3 based on the ones know
1.Yuki from MW becomes a villan because of his tragic past but does become so evil and twisted from it that it has to be my favourite villan
2. Alabaster might also not have turned out to be a villan if he wasn't experimented on still he goes on a rampage for ruthless revange.
3. Atlas since this is still an Astro Boy forum let's give Atlas third place shall we but seriously the way he was portrayed in the 1980 Anime was just amazing once again a Tezuka villan who isn't evil from his own will this one of course even gives his the life to safe earth but is stil evil for most of the story
Like to see some comments on my choices here let's see if someone can come up with a better list.

Favourite heavy villains, huh?
Well, obviously the 03 version of Tenma, though I do feel that he borderlines on being an antagonist as opposed to being outright villainous.
For other contenders, I really like Skunk. And I also really like the 03 series version of the Rainbow Parakeet; such an interesting villain that is never fully realized.

Before I even consider this question, kscharf, are you restricting it to just the stars, or do even single episode characters qualify for consideration? The posts thus far, are only supporting stars, but they all have many roles. Lamp, for instance, had a comical role in 1 AB episode, the conclusion of which had not only him, but the other crooks decide that though the rocket's fuel was low, they were not going to leave Atom behind. But that was a departure from Lamp's usual character.
