Vocaloid

Postby Juanita » 13 years ago

This is a thread to discuss, share, and introduce others to Vocaloid songs.
For those of you who don't know, Vocaloids are basically singing programs in which a bunch of noises and vowels are comprised together to form the program. After these sounds are recorded and the voices are given characters, the Vocaloids can then be sold (for a lot of money) and used to create songs. As the software improves, the realisticness of the voices increases.
Depending on who produces the songs, they differ widely in genre, sound, and animation. My favorite producer is 40mp.

Here are some examples of Vocaloid music:

This beautiful song includes the most popular Vocaloids, but not in their most realistic forms. This is a good example of the kind of songs professionals make, just without the most up-to-date software.

This song features Gumi Megpoid (my favorite Vocaloid) in a unique music video which features real life areas instead of drawings.

This adorable song features Hatsune Miku, the very first Vocaloid, in one of her more updated forms. In this one, she does sound more realistic than the previous video she appeared in.

Hope you enjoyed them and share your favorites with us!

My favourite Vocaloid producer is LiveP (ライブP), but unfortunately I don't know if they have a YouTube channel. Their Nico Nico Douga page is here. LiveP uses Rin Kagamine's voice in a very appealing way, creating songs with her voice such as "Mairisu Damee!" and "Saiaku no Kaanibaru".

Other Vocaloid producers I like that are on YouTube: Chikezou, Ann-Melts P, Machigerita P, Studio Eko, Sweet Revenge, Comp.T, Iieru P @ TinySymphony.

I can't seem to get on the Nico Nico Douga page. Hmm...

I actually mostly listen to the songs if iLife them, I just happen to like a lot of 40mp's songs. I really don't know the others, just the names of the songs. With that said, do you have any favorite Vocaloid songs or Vocaloids in general?

You need to be logged in to access some parts of Nico Nico Douga.

My favourite Vocaloid is Rin because she has the most appealing voice (for my personal tastes). My favourite Vocaloid songs also tend to be sang by her, especially Halloween songs in duets with Len.

Who is your favourite Vocaloid?

My favorite Vocaloid is Gumi because I think her voice is the most smooth and realistic. Likewise, my favorite songs are sung by her.
You might like Matryoshka judging by how your taste is. It's sung by Gumi and Miku. (Sorry no Rin)
Here's a link if you don't want to look for it:

The irony of this song is that many people have tried to figure out the meaning to it, but the meaning is about people trying to find the meaning of the song. There really is no meaning. Troll = successful

So Toyota did some commercials with Miku in them for their 2011 Toyota corolla. (Yes, these are American commercials)
I put my favorites on top :)

I don't understand why they picked such an old song. She had much better ones they could've used. Oh well.
