Anime Sols is taking a survey - want Astro? Let them know NOW!!

Okay, everyone - HERE'S OUR CHANCE to ask for what we want - and it doesn't cost anything but a few minutes of our time.

Best of all at the end you can leave a nice long message - I suggest we ALL do the following

1. Let them know you are a member of astroboy-online.com

2. Ask SPECIFICALLY for what you would like them to produce. (I asked for the 89 1960's episodes never translated out of Japanese, followed by subs of 2003 and 1980 (in particular the "lost" Astro/Atlas episode)

3. Invite them to visit our site so they can see how much we want to be able to watch hero in his authentic settings!

Go forth and set Astro FREE!! :astro:  :tezuka:

Just been there and done that.

I'm a member of the Astroboy-online.com site. I am also a fanfiction.net author with several stories based on the Astroboy manga/anime. I am a fan of most of Osmau Tezuka's works.

I don't know how likely a strickly fan supported pledge funding drive is going to work out. If it falls short it may not be due to lack of interest, but your initial choice of offers. I would hope that advertising tie-ins could also be used as a funding source.

I can tell you that while your current offerings are a good start, what many of the people on ABOL would really KILL for would be a chance to see 'subed' versions of the missing 89 episodes of the '63 Tetsuwan Atom Anime that were never sold to NBC Associates. Also on the high desire list would be uncut / subbed versions of the '80 and '03 animes (including one from '03 episode left out due to a copyright issue, which maybe could be legally worked out) There are also several short films associated with the '03 anime that are on the want list such as 'the secret of Atom's birth'.

Excellent Tet Pen - I'm certainly not opposed to funding other titles - but maybe a survey like this will guide Anime Sols to offer the chance to fund something we'd all support NOW and in a more generous manner.

I did plunk down a pledge on the three TV specials. Marine Express and Fumon were VERY good. (ME has lots of our favorite star system characters from AB and BJ in it!)

I also added that I'd like to see the Astro Boy 'mini movies' made in the 2000s, if that's even possible for them.

I'm pretty sure the mini movies are owned solely by Tezuka Productions so it would be the easiest thing for them to get hold of in all Astro Boy media.

That and Marine Express which they already have on the site. Surprised not more people are pledging for it...

One word: E C O N O M Y

Bet if they offered any of the Astro Boy - specific items the response would be bigger. Also if they would open up support to the whole world.

All shows are doing extremely poorly compared to their true popularity (take Creamy Mami for example which should logically be founded by now). If you compare with the Tezuka manga Kickstarters that get $30,000 in less than a week, the real reason Anime Sols isn't doing that well is just that it's an unfamiliar site. So I really appreciated the choice in the survey that if a show fails on Anime Sols, they should try it on Kickstarter.

Phew! I just got done filling it out and writing a rather lengthy, heartfelt statement. I'm pretty good with writing this kind of stuff, so hopefully it will help. c:

Unfortunately, I'm kind of short on funds so I can't really help with pledges, but I'm definitely going to advertise this site everywhere so that maybe it'll become less unfamiliar.
