We should probably remove the link to Now Comics on our main page (except as a foot note) since to give them ANY credit would be a dis-service to Astro.
Yes please. I'm crying just thinking about it.

Oh. Well it seems like it was mostly produced by America. Even the music was produced by America.

Imagi did the animation, actually. I mentioned that because Penguin said something about a Japanese company. I believe the director (the same guy who rewrote the whole thing), David Bowers, is English, though.

Speaking of Imagi, does anyone know what happened to it? Their website still exists, I think, but there isn't really any helpful information about anything they're doing. It's a shame, really; the Astro Boy movie wasn't even that bad (worse dreck than that can still manage to be successful, I'm sure, even if I haven't seen a good example of it yet), but it bankrupted the studio because of poor timing.

I don't think that the 2009 movie was bad at all. It certainly wasn't true to the canon, but neither was the 2003 anime. Both took the story in a new direction. The only thing in the movie that I really didn't like was the way Hamegg was cast as Fagin from Oliver Twist. Really, a guy having kids steal robot parts, living under his roof, it was right out of the Dickens story.

I didn't think the movie was that bad. It did fairly well in America. The point I was making was that it made no money in Japan (Astro's home country). Considering how much money they lost with that movie, they probably wouldn't want us to do another...
And I'm pretty sure Imagi is bankrupt now. Which means they probably aren't doing anything for a long while.

Yes, someone is playing around with a schematic capture program.

It's more than circuitry. It's Astroboy...
