In the manga cover pages Tezuka DID draw those boots red, the 'belt' green, and his eyes brown. IF the good doctor chose those colors SO BE IT!

Not really. I have it from a VERY reliable source that Astroboy's belt and underware are PAINTED on him.

The idea is a bit... Silly...
I'm fine with both removable or painted on underwear. There are several instances where both occur, and consistency obviously wasn't one of Tezuka's main priorities.

Huh! I do not understand. I never said Tezuka did not choose those colors, merely that there is no story specifying why he chose those colors. Whether or not somewhere he explained why those are Astro Boy's colors, I am not aware. Any one who knows for sure please share!
