here's an astro boy item i'm thinking of buying

My Question is why in the first place if you can just get it in English ??? Don't know if the order is diffrent but you get the point with this link why out of all grazy things you could get from ebay take something like this

For some collectors they may want to have the original Japanese version just to have a copy in the original Japanese.

As I stated before the Kodansha series was one of the first "Astro Boy" memorabilia that I owned. Of course when my girl bought them for me there were very few manga in English. (If any.) The Kodansha series is different in at least one respect; included in the first volume is the version of "Ambassador Atom" (or as it is called in this series, "Atom plays the Role of Ambassador") closest to the original version. The version in the in the Dark Horse series is the reedited and revised version. For more information on all of Tezuka's manga and anime. I refer you to "Tezuka in English".

I have the KAPPA reprints in B5 size & those other reprints that have the earlier versions. Well, I have only the 1st 2 sets of the KAPPA. These KAPPA books (as far as I know) have the same content as the DARK HORSE translations, yet the page size is much larger, & some are in color. Anyway, the panels, being larger, there is detail that is all but lost in the smaller sized English version. Moreover, with the other sets, the pocket-sized books have a 3 row by 2 column format, as opposed to the 4 row, 3 column format, so the panels are larger, & therefore detail is better.
