You have no idea how happy this made me when Mega Man was announced. He was my very most wanted character for this game. I had a lot of private doubts about him getting in, but I nevertheless remained a fierce supporter. Turns out all that support has paid off and I couldn't have been happier to see him in.
Mega Man was easily the best third-party choice and as his translation into Smash shows, he was a fantastic choice for Smash in general. I will definitely buy this game, even if Mega Man ends up being the only newcomer I want that gets in.
I'd recommend everyone get a Mega Man game; especially 2 and Mega Man X. There's plenty of great games from the franchise and I'm sure everyone here will find something to love about Mega Man.
I have faith that someday, Capcom will bring the franchise back to prominence. Hopefully, Capcom will use the opportunity that the exposure Mega Man gets from this game to make great new games again.
I know we all like Astro but I would prefer for Smash to not include characters that didn't originate from video game. Smash should be a game consisted of Nintendo characters fighting with maybe a few guests thrown in (and by few, I mean less than five). Plus I'm 99.99% sure that a non-video game character won't ever get in a Smash game. Masahiro Sakurai, the director of all four Smash games (including this one), ruled out the possibility of manga characters in Brawl and with Sakurai being very conservative with adding third-party characters, so while he could change his mind for Smash 4, there isn't any reason why he would. I wouldn't get your hopes up for Astro or really for any guest characters not named Mega Man, Pac-Man (who's basically a guarantee), Sonic (depends on if Sakurai will allow guests to return) and Snake (same thing)."Andrew_Wiggin" wrote:Now where is Astroboy's turn???
