It's never been said, but I've seen "X-Ray" pictures of Atom's head where it looks like an antenna of some sort is in the top spike (and sometimes in the second spike, too, though this is less frequent). I know he had something in his spikes in the 2003 version, though I cannot say whether they were antennae or not. Or what they were, if not antennae.

Mercury also causes demencia and other brain disorders. The heavy metal can also be absorbed through the skin. It was once used in molding hats, hence the term, "mad as a hatter".[/QUOTE]
I do remember reading something about that a long time ago perhaps in high school. But specifically for the Japanese stomach cancer is a very strong concern, just as heart disease is for Americans.

I see it now. I must've never really looked at the picture real good. I thought they were bullets instead of tears. lol. Acid tears? Atom is kinda dangerous to be around with. lol. Well, at least he can cry now. (haha!)

I... did not know that. Actually, that'd be very impractical. He cries every now and again, without any control over it, simply because he is emotional, so I think that it'd be kind of dangerous- for him, and for anyone around him- if he had acidic tears. It's probably more of a pressure-washer thing going on, from the looks of it.
