What makes me even more angry is that this is a trend that is worsening, in this day and age where things are supposed to be getting better they are getting worse. In Paul Dini's day while Batman was targeted for boys, plenty girls also enjoyed the series and the networks that hosted such shows were grateful for their viewership and would never complain of their support.

Then, network executives would never even think to cancel a show just on the basis that an audience they didn't anticipate was watching their show, that would just sound insane. But here we are in 2013 where these network officials are blatantly saying "This show is popular enough to keep on the air, but we're going to pull the plug on it because we have too many girls watching it that we don't want."

Really, if toys was the main issue they could have EASILY made goods that stereotypical girls would buy. They could sell pink and pastel colored shirts with Artemis or M'Gann on them, or a coy grinning Cheshire and they would sell. They could have created plushie dolls akin to the Adventure Time goods and girls would probably have bought them.

But somehow those in charge could not conceive of that.

>:C

It's complete BS, they know it but will never admit it, and in the end it just really makes everyone mad.

I learned today that I have another medal to mount on my retirement rack of military ribbons, one from the 1991 gulf war which brings my total now to 21 total. Just call me "Chesty"

I learned that the guy who directed the first two Home Alone movies also directed the first two Harry Potter movies. It somehow makes sense.

Ladybugs stretch after waking up.
A ladybug flew into my house yesterday, and I'm keeping it until spring. I gave her a raisin, and she fell asleep on it. I tapped it (I thought she died ;- ;) , and she stretched and rubbed her face. It was really cute!

You know keeping insects as pets is quite common in Asian countries such as Japan and China.

Wow! That is a really cute story SOPikaMeowMeow! I once saved a ladybug that was inside my room, so I let it outside carefully trying not to let it get wet by giant rain drops that were falling from the roof. Never seen it since, but I guess it made it out safely and flew off somewhere when it stopped raining. Also saved a huge bug that was on the inside of my bedroom window, but that's a different story. :)

@Tetsuwan Penguin - I hear it's common for people to have pet crickets in China. I wonder what else they keep.

@tailz - thanks! When did you let it go? It could still be alive. They live up to 3 years. (That's another thing I learned!)

Awe. As it is I have a spider about the size of a dime living near my lamp and bookcase, they are the type that just camp out in one spot and never leave so I'm not too bothered by it. They also are not venomous either so they can stay so long as they live. It made a real pretty web too close to the floor.

I like spiders and don't fear them.

@SOPikaMeowMeow I let it go when it was still raining outside, though it wasn't much so I thought it would be okay.

@Earthshine You mean a daddy long legs spider right? As for me, I can't stand spiders. We get really big and poisonous ones over here. BTW, don't ever kill a white spider. If you kill one, it brings you bad luck. *Hits spider with an oversized leek* Die evil spider! XD! lol.

Actually Daddy Long Legs spiders ARE poisonous, but their mouths are too small to bite people and do any damage (though I've never had one even TRY to bite me). I find them in the corners of the bathroom along with the corpses of all the dead ants they've eaten. BTW, spiders eat by injecting a paralysis poison into their victims and then they suck their insides out (YUCK TMI!) leaving just the exoskeletons behind.
