Pledge to get Marine Express, Black Jack DVDs and more

I just wrote up my predictions for the upcoming rounds on Anime Sols:

Next round (around Jan-Apr):

• Black Jack Set 3
• Black Jack OVAs - already confirmed
• Dear Brother Set 2 (Tezuka Productions, but not a Tezuka anime)

A little update on that: we all know that Dear Brother Set 2 was started early, and thanks to the Black Friday deal, was funded in just a couple days. It'll take at least 2 months before they start the 3rd set since at one episode a week, they're not even close to having those episodes streaming on the site yet.

Additionally, Sam Pinansky just said on The Fandom Post that they might wait a while before doing the third Black Jack set, possibly even after people have received Set 2.

All of this opens up the possibility of one or even two new Tezuka shows to start taking funds during that time.

They're going to announce something big for mid January soon. I'm crossing my fingers for 1980's Astro Boy Blu-ray Discs!

Actually, what I'd Really like to see would be a DVD - BD set of the 2003 series as it was released in Japan, along with the companion film " the secret of atom's birth", all sub'ed.

No BD set for the 2003 series in Japan, so no chance to see one from Anime Sols.

Some DVD sets would of course be nice, and why just that one short? Include them all if you're at it!

That was the only one of that period that I was familiar with. I'd also like to see the 89 missing episodes sub'ed, as well as the "brave in space".

WOW! Anime Sols just launched two new pledge drives for non-video stuff (Astro or Leo tote bags, and a book on drawing anime/manga that was translated from Japanese to English).

I see that Anime Sols finally got episode #44 of Blackjack up. This one is the birth of Pinoko. They tamed down the translation a bit. On Viki's version (and I think in the vertical manga) Pinoko called her sister a scumbag. In this one, she calls her 'stupid' and a 'simpleton'.

I might some money down for the hand bags, I don't know. I'll have to wait and see.

But yes, it's nice to finally see some Astro Boy stuff from AnimeSols. Hopefully next year, we'll finally get an announcement for something Astro Boy related for their DVD pledges.

Yes I agree, and maybe Marine express by itself would have made it. Actually I would have liked the 'Osmau Tezuka' story video as well.

Really? They are already confirming the Black Jack OVA's to be released in Japanese with english subs? I need to plan when to watch the last two episodes (9 and 10) next! Christmas eve would be good if I'm not busy.

Oh, and did anyone else know about this besides me? Animax made Black Jack (OVA series only.) in english dub. I never knew that, though it's kinda upsetting to me because I can't imagine BJ or Pinoko Speaking in an english voice. I was kinda afraid to see videos of it in english because I found some links to it on a BJ forum website because I thought it would ruin the whole entire series for me. I'm used to the original Japanese version. ! Sorry for going off topic on this paragraph here. : :
