lol. Yuuki's list is probably every western animated series she ever seen. JK!

Another bad cartoon for me. I forgot about adventure time. It's too stupid beyond words to describe, and not to mention the show's a bit innapropiate for kids to be watching. (Not trying to offend anyone here, just saying... )

I should have watched more than one cartoon of The LT Show, but, all too soon decided it was essentially a waste of time. There are also some really crappy Looney Toons also, they are the newer ones, apparently made for the Sat. morning cartoon ghetto. It seems the makers thought that goofy voices, stupid characters & such were sufficient to entertain kids. I think they made the LTS to ultimately replace the LTs, because so many of them are deemed offensive to certain groups.

As I stated in the "What did you learn today" thread... The new trend for cartoons on Cartoon Network now is 'random, high energy 'boy' humor', they have for some absurd reason genderized humor and shows and have come to the conclusion that they don't want girls watching their network what-so-ever. This is why so many good animations (IE Young Justice) have been canceled. Too many girls were watching the show and that demographic was something they did not know how to deal with.

To them, girls do not buy toys which is what they are after. So instead of making goods that a stereotypical girl will buy (like plushies or fun t-shirts as the marketing is for Adventure Time) they decided to just focus on boys and what they think they will like.

To get back to the topic I don't particularly think that the Looney Toons show was bad, not as good as the classic cartoons by far, but not really bad, not good either... just kind of there.

I actually enjoy Adventure Time because it actually addresses al lot of social issues respectfully in a very subtle but blatant way. But I can also see how the show can be a little off-putting or just confusing. It's also one of the few shows on the air right now that Cartoon Network is still happy with girls watching it.

I agree. I don't think either of these are necessarily bad. I understand what they tried to do with LT, but they didn't really handle it as well as they should. I actually never really liked Lola. She's a terribly bland and stereotypical character, and it's good that they tried to give her some personality. The problem is they gave her the wrong (absolute worst) personality. It's an ok show. It's definitely not the worst, but it's also definitely not the best.

I enjoy Adventure Time to an extent. While some episodes are pretty bad, others are really good. I like the gender swap episodes and the episodes dealing with Marceline and the Ice King as they're well written, and very fun. The characters are generally enjoyable, and I enjoy how they try to add plot and character development. I do understand why some people don't like it as it does have some pretty bad episodes, but overall it's a pretty good show, definitely not the worst.

I'm pretty sure the worst "cartoon" on right now is the stupid Annpying Orange show. That wasn't even funny on the Internet, no less as a low budget show.

Really? That's what they think of their female audience, cause I could list off all of the "boy" shows I've watched on their channel that would prove them wrong.

I think there's a group of people that are like that, but the entire network doesn't feel that way. Some of their biggest shows (adventure time and regular show) have MASSIVE female audiences and they haven't been taken off air. Also, they gave a woman (Rebecca Sugar) her own show (Steven Universe) which also has a huge female following. It seems to me that there's a group of idiots in the company that need to be fired, but not everyone in the company holds the same views.

Adventure Time has not been pulled from the air because their toy sales have been accepted very well by both genders because most of the goods marketed are 'gender neutral' - keeping to just generic plushies, trinkets, simple patterns on clothes and other objects. I can't say with any certainty anything about Regular Show.

The thing is, is that Cartoon Network is not deliberately trying to be sexist, because they are not - but the way in which they are marketing is. They don't care about gender when it comes to creation, but they certainly do when it comes to audience and consumers.

Cartoon Network is a business, and according to them girls don't buy toys as much as boys. They know very well that girls DO watch what they deem to be 'boy shows' and it's when a MASSIVE amount of girls watch shows that they deem to be 'boy shows' they get antsy. They don't know and they don't even TRY to market to these viewers and because they don't buy what is in existence they claim to be losing money.

The main executives DO feel this way, not the company, the employees and developers but those at the top that make the final word.

This of course does not mean that Cartoon Network is a BAD company as a whole, but it certainly means that they don't know how to do a good job in marketing.

If any of you want me to send you a copy of the specific article where a certain famous cartoon writer revealed this... note me.

Back on track... I also believe that that Annoying Orange show is god-awful. I couldn't stand anymore than 30 seconds of it.

They call it the annoying orange because the show is literally just soo freakin annoying itself! I also don't like it. It's very poorly funded, and the show just has bad taste. Not sure if it counts as a cartoon though. In a way I guess because the food are animated.

Actually, Most girls (like I myself) do enjoy Pokemon and that show sells Cute Pikachu hats, Plushies, and Cute Pokemon T-shirts that will attract female audiences. It's not really an official "Cartoon Network" show and more of an anime than a cartoon, but it still counts, so yeah. :p !
