How did you decide/get your avatar?

I found some really great Hatsune Miku icons earlier, but then I decided to change them. (I had a chibi miku from mirai before. That avatar only lasted about 10 min. lol.) Anyways, Since my other avatar with Black Jack and Pinoko at the hotsprings was soo small, I decided to change it. And finally, I found the perfect one that suits me well. A picture of Black Jack eating. lol. Why? Because I do like to eat! (haha!) And also, I do love Black Jack so there ya go! XD!

I got mine by cutting Atom out of a picture from a soundtrack showing many of the characters playing instruments using GIMP. It appealed to me because I am also a guitarist. I'd wanted to put a black background on it, but couldn't get it and gave up on it.

There are several tools in the Gimp that you can use to separate an image from the background. If there is a sharp color contrast the Gimp has an automatic tool to do this, otherwise use the scissors tool to outline the image. I then cut the image out and save it to the clipboard, then remove all layers and create a new transparent layer to paste the image to. This yields a floating image.

I'm still going to keep my Black Jack avatar, but for a couple of days (Maybe like today and tomorrow.) I'm going to use this avatar cause I want to have a little way of celebrating the release for "Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd". (Though, the game comes out in March 2014.) I really liked "Two Breaths Walking" vocal by Hatsune Miku and Music and Lyrics by DECO*27, so that's where this avatar is from. Anyways, I don't want to keep this avatar for long though, cause I like my other one of Black Jack. (It suits me well! ! ) I just wanted to show a little way of my appreciation towards the game.

Also, I finally found a signature picture. I'm going to keep this one around for a bit. I think it's cute! I actually found this picture a while ago, but I never decided if I should make it a signature picture for me or not. Anyways, you might see this signature picture until summer comes. (Maybe after my birthday.) After that day, I will no longer have a signature picture. (That is, unless I find another really good one to put up! ! )

I wonder if there's a signature picture thread where people help you to find good signature pictures. If there isn't, then someone should really start one! (I'm hoping to find a really good signature picture of Astro boy someday.)

Thanks! ! The pic in my signature is from "Hatsune Miku Project Mirai" the song "My Time". I didn't take the screenshot, just found it on google and thought that it would make a great signature picture. !

This is going to seem a little off topic here, but have you heard of the song "Bacterial Contamination" by Deino? Hatsune Miku is the vocal for it. The PV may seem a bit scary and dark, but the meaning to the song is very sad and is about a girl getting bullied and she sees herself as a monster. Very sad song. You should watch the PV and listen to the song if you haven't already.
