It's about an amnesiac robot (yeah, that tired scenario) that teams up with a bunch of other robots that are his siblings along with this human girl named Mitsuke and they band together to do this or that. I really can't remember much at all... which is why I need to re-watch the series  The last time I saw this was when I was like 13. That was... 13 years ago.

People at my school love the One Piece manga. I tried reading the first book but then gave up. Because:

1. NUDITY.
2. Poorly-drawn characters (No offense)
3. Didn't think much of the story. I prefer stories with a deep meaning like Tezuka or Ghibli / or are very creative and not just "funny".
I joined this forum in late 2013 when I was 15 going on 16. Ignore my oldest posts, they embarrass me so much that I've considered permanantly leaving the forum more than once. I've grown out of my fangirling phase over Black Jack, Atom and Uran ages ago but the memories still embarrass me at times... Though, I try to be more open-minded about it and accept it as an "interesting stage of my life". :tezuka:

You now, One piece was shown on 4kids a long time ago, and I never understood why cause that show wasn't even for kids at all. Maybe that's why they let Funimation re dub the series and cancelled it on 4kids cause they found out about all the nudity and stuff in later episodes. (God, that show. It's just not my flow is all. I have many many problems with it.)

One Piece: That show where everyone looks deformed. (No offense by the way. This was just a joke that was floating in my head for a while.)

*cough, cough* Though to be honest, I liked the 4kids version of that show better, cause the voice acting was a little 'slow' in the funimation version. (Even though, I personally don't like that show at all.) vwv. I was saying "Why did they even make that series to begin with anyway?" (No offense btw, I just have some problems with that show.)

I liked how the art style was different than the usual anime style. It gave the series a certain charm, and not all the characters are hideous looking (though some do look a bit wonky).

I agree about the art of One Piece, it leaves something to be desired. I respect the art for what it is, but to me I just can't really appreciate it. I tried watching it a while ago and it was just so wild and random I couldn't get into it.

Agreed. I especially never liked how the girls are drawn in that series; they're very cookie-cutter in their body shape.

I never found myself all that interested in One Piece, either. I watched a few episodes a few years ago and lost interest fairly quickly.

Their body-proportions also was a major put-off for me. I understand stylizing and different art forms coupled with balance, but it still just is hard for me really get into. It's like a lot of yaoi artists and how they draw hands and other body proportions such as arms, torsos and legs being completely out of proportion. As an artist I really try hard to keep things in proportion, it's one of the hardest things to do in figure drawing, and when I see published artists making money off of something that has so many bodily proportion and balance mistakes I get kinda irritated. I understand that they worked hard on their pieces, but it still is annoying to me. Of course not all agree with me and get really upset when I point that stuff out.

Not all yaoi artists are like that. I've seen a lot of good ones with Black Jack so far. (Pervert) :d evil:

Oh I know! I have one that I really like who draws bodies in proportion and her artwork is really clean. It's just some (actually a great deal) that are PUBLISHED have issues with proportions. These are usually found in the June published yaois that you can find in comic book shops and some bookstores.

Stuff like this...

.__. Yeah... It's pretty scary with some of these... which is why I get a little miffed that they get published and get money off of drawing stuff like this when there are so many really talented artists that are ignored or publishing companies refuse to publish them for X reason.

Fortunately not all are like this, they are just rare it seems.
