I wish it could go ;-;

I'm not a big fan of Attack on a Titan either. There's just too much wrong with it for me to enjoy it, not to mention I can't grow attached to any characters other than th main three cuz they'll probably just die later.
I've only seen the first episode of Hetalia, and I wanted to watch the rest. It's way too long though (and apparently not as good as everyone says).

Ok, so I didn't mean that all animes nowdays are stupid, just most.

I'm just not into modern anime much anymore, I love retro anime and manga.

Also, I like pokemon cause I grew up with it. XD!

Anime and comics aren't childish! Just take a look at Black Jack. Dat is most aimed at adults!

It's pretty natural to be fond of things that you liked as a child no matter how it seems to the outside world, which why I'm still very fond of Astro Boy and Rockman even though they are not titles exclusively for children.

As for Hetalia... I could go on and on for how many things are just wrong with it, racism being only one thing. Alas I cannot though as we would be talking about things which are not allowed on this forum. Let's just stick to that it's offensive and NOT FUNNY.

There have not been many recent animes that I have really REALLY enjoyed, the last ones being made in 2008 - 2010. I really loved Casshern Sins and Pandora Hearts (except the endings for both which just sucked and were drop-offs). Fortunately the manga of Pandora Hearts is still going and it's pretty good.

Hetalia can just go to hell. I don't care for it. :shifty: (Sorry, if that offends most of you here. It's just what I think. vwv)

Pandora hearts. I have heard many good things about that anime. I remember reading a few volumes of the manga before, but I never understood it. It didn't make sense to me at times, but it was pretty good.
I have never seen the anime yet. Is it in English?

I also enjoy some modern anime Like Tokyo Mew Mew and Pokemon (Which is still going on btw.) But that's about it. (And there is some that I enjoyed back when I was a kid. Mostly 4kids animes like Kirby Right back at ya,Sonic X, and such.)

Pandora Hearts is available as a subtitle only (no dub sadly) by NIS America on DVD. I got mine through Right Stuf.

I never could get into Pokemon though I remember when it first got popular here in the states; I was in third grade and all Pokemon cards were banned in my school (and then district) because two boys got into a fist-fight over them and one of them knocked the other's front teeth out when he got shoved to the pavement

That beside I just couldn't get into it much, but my best buddy loves it and really enjoys it, so I have nothing really bad to say about it. That and I know nothing of it because I never got into those sorts of things.

Probably cause Pokemon is more aimed at boys? I don't know, but I think it's aimed at everyone. Anyways, I  Pokemon. :D

I remember playing Pokemon cards with my friends druing recess back in my elementary school days. (Good Times) :D

And oh my. Naughty, Naughty little children. (That's soo ridiculous. Over some Pokemon cards. Now C'mon! That's lame! But, it's soo ridiculous that's it practically funny. )

btw, 4kids dubbed it. I'm not sure if they still dub it today, but back in the 90s, yeah, 4kids dubbed it, so you probably won't like it. (But Good God, Back in the day, Pokemon was where it's at!)

Gender targeting doesn't work on me what-so-ever. If I cared about whether or not a show was for a specific gender then I'd be pretty much hobby-less.

Yeah I know 4kids dubbed it, never saw one episode even back in the day before I even know about 4kids and their 'philosophies' nor would I have cared.

Those kinds of shows just don't interest me. I don't have any interest in shows like Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Bay Blade or whatever 'collectable' series which entices children to get into cards or toys to boost sales. Just not my thing, I get bored with stuff like that. I guess you could call these types of anime 'consumable anime' as the marketing is literally for children to ask their parents to buy the correlating toy with the series.

I like more serious series with tangible plots and twists with messages reminiscent of a cautionary tale without being patronizing or cliche (but if it's cheesy in a good way that's different).

Just different tastes in stuff.

Yeah, Pokemon cards got really out of hand in my district and got a ban. You had to surrender your cards if the teachers caught you with them and you would have to see the principle (serious stuff for an 8 year old!) :D

One of my friends will ONLY watch Shoujo anime; Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, A Little Snow Fairy Sugar (though this one is sooo cute!) and she literally will not watch ANYTHING else. If it comes close to being something else she will not watch it. Really. So she is the type that likes the MOE animes and the like... which is odd considering she is older than me but whatever. Her life. Her tastes. Even if it's just :d oh:

"tailz" wrote:
Oh I most definitely will be! :D It's just a shame not many do Tezuka cosplays, last year I did and we were the only ones. Sigh.

I'll keep a lookout for those Black Jack doujinshis though, we have a vendor that shows up there every year that only sells yaoi and shounen ai doujinshis. ;) And they have A LOT.

Though lately they've only been selling crap like Hetalia... and I suspect that they will have a bunch of Attack on Titan stuff as they sell whatever is popular and trending at the moment.

Hetalia is crap. :ninja:

Attack on Titian. I'm not a big fan of that show and I show little interest. (I'm not a big fan of popular anime much these days. All of the popular ones are always very stupid and have no meaning behind them, unlike Tezuka's works. :tezuka: XD! ) My brother's are all over that Attack on Titan stuff though. I just think it's very stupid. :shifty:

For me it's Black Jack, Astro boy, Kimba,Princess Knight,Don Dracula, The Three Eyed one, ect. (Yeah, so pretty much all Tezuka anime that I'm all over every 24/7. :tezuka: :hyo: )

Yes please do! :w00t: (I love doujinshi! Especially Black Jack doujinshi, which they hardly have any of out there. I only saw a few on e-bay, like a Japanese parody of Black Jack which were pretty funny by the looks of it cause it was clean parody and wasn't offensive. And a few strange Black Jack x Kiriko doujinshi. And Black Jack was for some reason a woman... Yeah... That was soo uncalled for... Me did not like that one. Not at all. :shifty:
I remeber seeing a Black Jack x Rock doujinshi once, but it was only just the cover of it. I wonder if it was Japanese or just some deviantart one.) Remember, to be on the eye out for them! (And please, try and find some good ones! The gender bender ones are usually kinda stupid.) :shifty:
Sorry, but what are Hetalia and Attack on Titan about? Usually I just look at Tezuka and Ghibli and such so I've never read those before.

Kuro Hazama as a lady? Now, that sounds ridiculous.
I joined this forum in late 2013 when I was 15 going on 16. Ignore my oldest posts, they embarrass me so much that I've considered permanantly leaving the forum more than once. I've grown out of my fangirling phase over Black Jack, Atom and Uran ages ago but the memories still embarrass me at times... Though, I try to be more open-minded about it and accept it as an "interesting stage of my life". :tezuka:

Pokemon was my first anime, next to sailor moon, but I kinda grew out of SM.

The only shoujo anime and manga I dig are tokyo mew mew and princess knight.

Pokemon isn't like digimon, beyblade, or yu gi oh. (Digimon, pokemon rip off. XD) I show no interest in those, just pokemon for me.

Hetalia is about the 'history' of Europe and America though the countries have been personified as actual characters; they are stereotyped effigies of said countries. America is stupid and loud, Cuba is loud and obnoxious who only screams, that's it, China is broken up into several people (oh yeah! Tibet is a panda so it's not even human) and all the other European nations are pretty much the same. Poland is an airhead, Egypt is white which I can't even justify. The 'plot' is pretty much just jokes about world events acted out by these 'countries' which are pretty inaccurate. It trivializes WWII as well which is a big NO NO.

I can't say for certain what Attack on Titan is about as I didn't stick around with it long enough to get into anything detailed. Tailz should be able to fill you in better.
