I need help

Postby Anime Girl » 11 years ago

Guys, I have a problem. Okay, one of my best internet friends, DJ, well I saw him posting on Facebook and dA, this one simple line, "I wanna die". I don't know what's going on because he hasn't spoken to me in awhile. I dunno what to do. I don't live in the same city as him, so I don't know what's going on. I'm scared and I'm afraid he's really gonna kill himself. I don't wanna go through this again. Two of my best friends committed suicide in my freshman year, so I'm scared of this happening again. HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Umm, Uhh, I'm a terrible councillor. You can talk to him, right? Maybe he needs to talk to someone. Or he was not serious about the post, I don't know. Just talk to him. Don't freak out either. That might make things worse. Or ignore me, because I have no idea what I'm talking about.

The best thing you can do is try and contact someone that you know knows him and ask them to check on him. You can also keep sending him messages that you care about him and don't want to see him go anywhere.

If you still can't get a hold of him I'd try one of the crisis hotlines in your area found HERE and see if they have any resources that can help.

If you yourself find that you need help or are feeling down you can try Blah Therapy which is a FREE therapy site and it's completely anonymous and it's great for venting.

:( I hope some of this helps.

Well that's childish.

I'm glad he's okay though! What a relief.

Yeah last time it happened, the hacker was telling everyone he was gay, and sending mean troll messages to his friends, and ignoring me when I wanted to chat with him. What kind of nerd would do that. Sigh

Sounds like someone with low self esteem and no real friends of their own. That's pretty sad.

Your friend should really make a tough password to hack.

My passwords typically are me literally doing something like this: YTDYB%$RE6WTR8

I just keyboard smashed.

It works really well, I have not had one compromise in the entirety of my net life.

You must have a good memory to not forget such random passwords!

Keyboard smashing is not very secure because it doesn't generate that much entropy. You should used password generators. To guess a keyboard smashed password, the pirate takes a few likely points on the keyboard and generates possible strikes based on that (millions of them). It seems completely useless, but it is still much better that blindly trying all combinations ;)

Not to say you'll be hacked of course, just that true randomization is better as an entropy generator, and not much worse to remember :D
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.
