I just have to start one of these threads...
Which would win. I know astroboy would hand robin his butt in 10 seconds but I wonder about barman...

It would depend on WHICH Robin he was tackling to be honest.
Dick Grayson would go down pretty easily unless he uses his tasers.
Jason Todd would be a little more brutal than Dick but would go down probably with the same ease.
Tim Drake would probably last the longest due to his ability to negotiate, hack and his knowledge of computers. It is possible that he could organize an EMP which would disable Atom. Of course this is all speculation and giving Tim time to react.
Damian would probably go down the same way as Jason.
The other Robins (such as Stephanie Brown, Helena Bertinelli and Carrie Kelly) might actually do better than most of the Robins given that they tended to have more tech. Carrie Kelly being the best one as she's from the future and has an EMP right as her typical gear.
But Batman. Hm.
He's fought robots and androids before and each time he has (when it's written seriously) he's had a difficult time. But being the hero he of course eventually won. With his sheer knowledge and skill and near machine level of processing power he might be able to formulate a plan which would ultimately lead to his ability to shut Atom down and render him immobile.
Batman has an armory of gadgets that would do well against Atom given that he has enough time to use them effectively (which is the deciding factor).
Atom is just SO FAST though.
However, if Batman is able to defeat Superman on his own then it is possible that he can defeat Atom just given that he has time to make a plan and carry it out.
In all reality though why would they fight unless it's all just a big misunderstanding?

Yeah, Tim's ability to talk down people from trees and murdering people is top-notch.
I really think it would come down to reaction time for Bruce. If Atom just showed up BAM in front of his face and socked him one he wouldn't be able to do anything about that (who would?) But that doesn't sound very Atom-ish.
Rather they would probably banter first, and during those few precious seconds Bruce would formulate plan that may or may not work depending on if Atom is giving Bruce a fair fight considering he is human.
:T This is a tough one... Atom seems sensitive to some levels of high electricity (like tasers) and Batman does carry one on him as part of his regular gear.
Both of them are really powerful in their own right and there are just so many ways that it could go.

Oh he's not so cold hearted as he comes off (HOW many kids has he adopted? A LOT)
That face would definitely work on Timmy though (heck that would work on most of the robins). It might work on Bruce, just a little bit, long enough for Atom to tackle him in a giant hug. He would stick to him like glue and Bruce would be powerless

He's a very aloof personality with a very practical way of thinking, but his inner warmth belies that exterior. He's had a lot of tragedy in his life click for spoiler(loosing his parents to crime, loosing his second adopted son and robin Jason to the Joker, in the N52 his biological son died and now even Dick his first adopted son is dead
)
He's always ALWAYS searching for the 'right' answer, though sometimes showing physical affection can be hard for him he does love his adopted children very deeply and is hurt tragically when they are lost.
Yes he has his own issues (what hero doesn't) that he deals with but the thing is he's not this frigid monster that doesn't care. Some fans interpret him as this simply because he is an aloof personality that doesn't really like to socialize with others. He's a bit like Black Jack in that way.
His past incarnations have changed though and it also depends on who is writing him. There is one writer in the comic industry that I really think should not be writing Batman what-so-ever as he writes him as uncaring and almost emotionless, methodical drudgery.
So Atom playing his cute card could work on him, he's not about to smack around a child unless he absolutely has to (should the child be let's say an immortal magic user with a penchant for chaos and death).
