You do bring up a good point of how athletic and quick Robin is. He would probably be able to get to Astro quickly.

Something makes me think Robin running towards Astro ready for a fight would catch Astro off-guard.

Atom would be too busy wondering why Robin is attacking and how to stop him without hurting him.

Instead of thinking about how Astro would do in a fight against Robin, I've been imagining how Astro would do AS Robin! Imagine him joining up with Batman! Now try to picture Uran as Batgirl!

Atom would probably make a fine Robin as he and Tim Drake at least are fairly similar in morals and approach (though Atom is a touch more violent on principle). Atom would also follow Bruce's commands with ease but he would also know when to forgo that and do what Bruce needs him to do rather than what he wants him to do. Bruce does make mistakes sometimes.

Uran though I'm a little concerned about. She's rambunctious, haughty and might have some issues with following direction and keeping her cool. But with proper training and a genuine drive to help people I think she'd come around.

Haha. I'm already working on such a story, but it's set right after the death of Jason Todd / Robin. I hope to post a first chapter by the weekend, but I'm still fine tuning the plot in my mind. It will use some aspects of the 2003 Astro Boy Anime series in it plus an idea I got from one of DanNavy85's epics. One warning, this one will probably be rated M due to the sadistic Joker.

I've rewritten the first two chapters and I'm almost happy with them, but it's still not quite there. I also still need a title for the story, something that ties the themes of the Dark Knight, and the Joker with Atom. I wish I could draw manga, I can see this story being a perfect fit for a doujinshi.

BTW Earthshine, can you create a portrait format (taller than wide) image with both Atom and Uran that I could use as the ff.net story cover image?

I can try but I need to know exactly what you mean by "portrait format (taller than wide)".

When I hear "portrait" I automatically think of a head-shot which would exclude the uniforms and you would just have Atom and Uran in masks which wouldn't be very exciting.

I was thinking of having them both dressed in full bat-regalia in heroic poses.

Just need to know what you want though

Also drawing in Tezuka style is HARD.

So have we decided on who would be a 'victor' yet or is the best answer that they would just join up and be allies?
