I believe I may have found something helpful. However, it is beyond me how to utilize any of it (assuming I haven't already ruined everything anyways by trying to install things from the disc piecemeal onto my laptop).
Another thing; I really don't know how to remove the panel on this thing. I hope I haven't inadvertently wrecked something by trying; I didn't try too hard, lest that actually happen, and I only tried once. :T
A new lead for my tablet situation?

well the install instructions for Arch linux are different from Ubuntu. I don't know if the package names are the same, but instead of "packman" or "yaourt" you'd use
sudo apt-get install <package name>
sudo apt-get install <package name>

ok my friend here is your command.
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-wacom kde-config-tablet
you will be asked for your password then asked if it is ok to install other stuff needed for those things to work, answer Y and watch the giverish go by, the wacom kernel driver is already in the default kernel build so you don't have to worry about it.
that should be it, good luck.

Okay, so that definitely did something... I'm going to have to actually try installing everything, to see it worked, though. Wish me luck- I'm going to restart the computer, first...
EDIT: So, it's still not working... maybe I am missing something? It just keeps saying, "Platform not supported." Does this mean that there is potentially a much bigger problem at play? I really want to get this done...
Additional Edit: I just found something! Apparently, this version of Wine only emulates up to Windows XP. I think I need up to at least Vista for this to work; is there any way to update Wine so that it can do this?

what are you running under wine?????????????
do you remember what version of your os you are running, if not then tell us the output of
uname -a
lsb_release -a
if you are trying to run the wacom tablet software in whine, then that is why it is not working, wind can't run system level stuff like drivers.
there is a program called mypaint in the repositories that is designed to be used with graphic tablets
sudo apt-get install mypaint, try with that.
and for good measure.
sudo apt-get install libwacom2

I'm trying to use Wine to install the thing, silly. I figured that may have been a part of the problem; I can't install any of the other programs with it, otherwise. I also can't use GIMP or FireAlpaca with it if it isn't installed, and the Wine Windows Program Loader is what brings up the installation window in the first place. I'm not simply trying to use it; I want to install the damn thing, so I don't have to jump through hoops every time I want to use the lousy thing. :T
Edit: Bluh, that was no help at all. Apparently, I'd still need to configure it to support anything over Windows XP, which, unfortunately, is what I need it to do; this tablet needs at least Windows Vista to even install...
What would installing libwacom2 do?

libwacom2 helps linux programs to findout about your tablet.
you need to forget about installing the tablet software in whine, it will not make the tablet work on your linux system, the sudo apt-get install commands I gave you in earler posts should make it work, it will probably show up as a mouse.
try this.
go into kde system settings, the icon looks like a crossed screw driver and wrench
you will see a window that looks something like this
dubble click on the input devices icon
then click on graphics tablet
I don't have a tablet so hopefully you see something other then what I got.
this is where you can configure the tablet for use with your software, the windows software for it is useless on linux systems.
linux has it's own drivers for the tablet and most other common types of hardware.
configuring wine to act like windows vista will not do any good
but if you really want to try then you can install q4wine to help you configure your wine settings
sudo apt-get install q4wine
q4wine is a qui to configure wine settings, help install windows apps and even manage multiple fake windows installations.
wine is only good for running user programs, not drivers like the ones you are trying to install for your tablet.

It says, "no tablet device was found". Btw, I'm sure that the programs can run on this, if I manage to install them. You can install from the disc, too; in fact, most evidence suggests that I am supposed to.
As for the programs, if all else fails I can at least download them from the website, I think; the disc has a software bundle download key on the back of the case. But the tablet itself is the priority right now.

the disk has software for windows and maybe also mac, not linux, the disk is wasting your time
go into your terminal the type
dmesg | tail
plug in the tablet to your computer
then type it again and post the output here, we will determine if the linux driver is loading and recognizing your tablet
I don't mean to be a jerk just incase I come off as one but forget about the disk that came with the tablet, as far as your linux system is concerned it is a Frisbee.
wine is user land only, the software for your tablet on windows has some kernel land parts (the windows drivers) thease will not be able to run under wine, mostly for security reasons but also because linux kernel is too different from windows to beable to make windows drivers work in it.
setting wine to say it is vista or 7 may get the wacom software to install but the windows drivers will not work so the windows software will be of no use to you
linux has had drivers for wacom tablets for years on end
you are only suposed to install the stuff on the disk on windows systems, I have never seen a device that had linux drivers and software on the disk.
soooooo we will start at the kernel and usb port ans work our way threw the software stack and find the problem.
I also need to know your os version
uname -a
lsb_release -a
and the dmesg | tail output after plugging in the tablet
| is the vertical line on the same key with the \ (hold shift to get the | (pipe) symbol)
I am sorry you are having so much trouble with this thing, I do want to help you get this working.
also what tablet do you have??????
go into your terminal the type
dmesg | tail
plug in the tablet to your computer
then type it again and post the output here, we will determine if the linux driver is loading and recognizing your tablet
