Thank you for sharing JeffBert! This series of episodes are almost interesting! it is understandable to see why Dr. Tezuka hated this sereis!

It is interesting to see that the Japanese producers saw a need to give Atom clothing!

It is too bad these episodes where never dubbed like the "Super Giant" series was. One can hear the voice of Billie Lou Watt in one of the films of "Starman"!

Any way thank you for posting< JeffBert! It almost makes me wish I had the later "Mighty Atom" live-action episodes in my collection. (Almost!)

You are very welcome, ASTROBUDDY! Unfortunately, I was able to audibly catch only a very few names in this entire series. Strangewings transcribed much of the booklet that came with the DVD set, for which I am indebted to him, but I just wish I had the patience to have learned Japanese. I could not tell which character was which, even running the DVD at 1/2 speed. I intend to post the remainder of this arc tomorrow, & the last arc next week.

I think the twist of it being the stowaway's parents is an interesting one. Almost seems like something you would see in an early Doctor Who episode, especially of the first Doctor!

For some reason the props and effects on this reminds me of the pre-war Flash Gordon and Buck Rodgers serials. I remember them being on TV in the 50's and 60's as a kid.

Just as the alien opens fire upon Kyāpetto’s papa, the martian pops into the line of fire! Where have we seen this since?

The Martian appears to be portrayed by the small guy who was a henchman in the 3rd Arc, Franken.


Ketchup returns to the aliens' camp after delivering the ultimatum to Papa Rencom, apparently, expecting a warm welcome. Yet, now that he had served his purpose--









irate: Sorry, but I had to skip forward:

In a twist on this story's ending, Ketchup does not sacrifice himself to defeat the aliens, as he does in other versions.

Thanks for the lot of terrific pictures, Jeffbert! They must've had one hell of enthusiasm when the shot the live action series, it would be fun to have some outtakes of the shooting and watching the actors cracking up when they were trying to get the scenes right!
