Those images are from 41, X Bomb (Deadline to Danger), just 4 episodes earlier, Uran made her debut. BTW, in #41, she also flies with the jet pack supplied by Norse Necktall (Snoopy Scoop), Who had wanted a story from Atom, but had been denied. He agreed to give Uran the jet pack, so long as she would give him the details he sought.

Actually if you notice any time Tezuka has shown female humanoid robots "naked" including Uran, Niki/Nuka, and Astro's robotic mother, they all display breast-like forms on their torso. So I guess Uran wearing a bra is not so unreasonable. Just wondered what her age was supposed to be!

Tezuka used to also show Uran (in the 60's anime, at least) with an "hour-glass" figure. To me, it seemed he was aging Astro in a young teen boy, and Uran as a "tween." One episode that displays this characterization is "The Wonderful Christmas Gift."

I think it was just the situation and part of her sleepwear at that time. I remember being 9 and having a cute little bra and panty set that was sleepwear and made of soft cotton. It was like a training bra.

She's 5 years old in the 1980 and 2003 series, so I hope nobody's thought that deeply about those incarnations.

I was just doing captures for Triton ep #10, & thinking about Pipi-chan's bare chest as I read Fauna's post. I think the shape of Uran's is actually nothing more than the point at which the stomach meets the rib cage. The chest is by no means vertical, rather, it tapers back to the shoulders that are no where as thick as the lowest point on the ribs (in the front, not the sides).

As for Nuka, yes, she is depicted as having upper body (secondary) female characteristics.

Since Astro was supposed to have been a clone of a 9-10 year old Tobio, I always envisioned Uran as being created as a 7 year old sibling.
