Both are as importand but crowdfunding is making me sick the dead right now !!!!

The fast majority of people don't care to go through all the trouble while i do everything i can ....
Weather it be Animesols or DMP right now nothing is really going anywhere ....
Here DMP is thinking they can publish hunderds of Tezuka books in 5/6 years while they are just overestimating the market now, with needing almost 600.000 to make these goals and look not even 19,000 in 3 days like hell this is gonna work out :(

I pledged for the $125 reward, since it'll get me the entirety of Vampires and Birdman in print, and the rest in digital form; it works out to about $21 a print book. But I'm also confused because, like, do I get the print books even if we don't hit the 589,000 level that promises Vampires and Birdman?

This Kickstarter is organized so messily that I can barely stand it.

I just checked the site, & they are talking about a $650 deal for all 6 in both formats, though the kickstarter page says nothing about it.

i 100% understand this, but it's confusing me because... why offer it as a reward tier?

I sort of get it. I picked one of the tiers that gives me stretch goal items, but if that stretch doesn't seem like it'll make it, I can always just change my pledge to something that does make it near the end.

Jeffbert: but it's there.

I wasn't about to pay $ 800,00 if only the first goal would just make it :p
But seeing it got just past 20.000 what change is there to even get to 380.000

This is a disaster. Why did they have to lump so many books together? Vampires would have sold perfectly fine without a Kickstarter. I was really excited about this at first, but we're going to need several hundred people to contribute at least $200 each, which is both insane and unrealistic.

I'm really disappointed about this. Was a series of smaller Kickstarters too much or something?

They hoped to be able to release the entire Tezuka library in 6 years rather than 60. They specifically picked the 6 most requested titles (except Kimba which is still off-limits) for this campaign to make it work. Arguably, even if stretch goals fail, you're still sure to be getting some damn good titles. Some of the very best in fact.

I'm not giving up yet. The final days push should be interesting, especially since the more backers there are, the more people have a foot in the door and try to spread the word around because they want this to succeed.

If the first stretch goal doesn't make it, I'll go for the complete Rainbow Parakeet set at the last minute instead. So I ensure I actually get a physical reward but it would also raise a bit more money to the cause than the Wonder 3 tier. I already own that series in French but I can keep it brand new and sell it to a lucky person when it becomes rare.

Also just a note about the Kickstarter rewards that even I didn’t fully consider at first: a lot of the tiers include a $10 eManga credit and half off on an Akadot order of Tezuka books plus free shipping. This sort of thing that seems to shamelessly want you to register on their sites is what you usually just glance over without paying attention, but this is genuinely good for Tezuka fans.

Some Tezuka titles are exclusives to eManga. Brave Dan so far (which was great, if you get that credit you’re in luck to be able to use it for this) and tons more are coming. We already know about Cactus Kid and Clockwork Apple in particular.

The Akadot coupon is also very useful. I don’t know on how many books it can be used, but I’d use the hell out of it to get Captain Ken when it comes out soon. Others might want to use it on Triton if they don’t already own it, or heck, even other titles from this Kickstarter campaign once they come out at retail!

All things considered, a tier like the Rainbow Parakeet complete set is more like $225 rather than $250. It’s just that you have to pay up front for things you’ll get later.
