Tezuka really liked his rejected and abandoned robot kids, didn't he? I guess after Atom was such a hit, his publishers wanted him to try again XD
I've just learned of this character now thanks to this thread, but am I the only one who now wants to see Atom, Mars, and Roppu form some kind of super robot boy team? Or maybe just start a little tree house club? XD

I wish I knew more about Roppu. What are his abilities? How strong is he? I'd love to include him in a fan fiction story along side Atom and Mars. Was this character ever in an Anime? (Mars was never in any official Manga written by Tezuka AFAIK).

Just did a quick internet search, and it doesn't look like he was; Roppu-kun has only existed in manga format.

As for Mars, you would be right. The official Wikipedia article for Jetter Mars says that manga made for Jetter Mars were only made by various licensed artists.

From what I've seen at the very least he has the ability to create things out of nothing seemingly? Which seems to be his special ability. Another site, I forget which one, mentioned that a limitation of his was that he was still "just a toy" - whatever that means. He also only listens to Roppei apparently? I'll see what more I can track down about this!

I also found out about this dude a while ago, as well as Ricky from Zero Man (from that fabulous tribute video- I do so love it). I was also curious about the mention of him being "just a toy". I have my own ideas, but I have a hard time articulating what I mean.

Also, sorry for talking in a dead thread- the only reason I'm here is because I found this in an image search for visual references. I'm actually exceedingly uncomfortable being here; I tend to avoid this place as much as possible because of personal reasons, and I'm terrible for not being able to let things go, even when they did not happen here, per se- actually, despite my best efforts my self-righteous indignation tends to cause my feelings to fester as I try my best to "ignore" the problem. So, please do not expect to see me often, and do not be surprised if I seem a little short with any of you- I just won't know what to say, without being overtly rude. And that's if I answer you at all.
